Public Statement Regarding Parts Supply and Customer Service I would like to bring to the public’s attention a serious concern regarding the supply of replacement vehicle parts and the way our particular experience was handled. We purchased injectors from Goldwagen, believing that we were purchasing new parts. The injectors were supp**** in packaging that indicated they had previously been the subject of an unsuccessful claim. When we presented the evidence to Goldwagen, the parts were replaced. However, we were asked to return the original injectors in their undamaged packaging. This raised concerns for us about whether parts that have previously been supp****, returned, or associated with unsuccessful claims could subsequently be resold as new. We believe this is an important issue that deserves transparency and clarification. Unfortunately, at the time, we did not know what we know now. The vehicle subsequently suffered significant engine damage and required a complete rebuild, resulting in substantial costs to us. We initially approached Goldwagen in an effort to resolve the matter constructively. At first, they appeared willing to assist and arranged for the injectors to be tested by suppliers at their expense. The first testing facility reported that the injectors had failed. We were subsequently informed by Goldwagen that they were no longer using that supplier. The injectors were then sent to another testing facility, where they also failed. Goldwagen subsequently arranged for the injectors to be tested by a third supplier, which reported that they had passed its testing process. Given the conflicting results, we contacted that supplier directly. When asked whether he would personally be prepared to install those same injectors in his own vehicle, he indicated that he would not be comfortable doing so. At this point, we have provided the relevant evidence and have made every effort to resolve the matter reasonably and through the appropriate channels. Unfortunately, we have not been able to reach a satisfactory resolution with Goldwagen. Our intention is not to unfairly accuse any individual or company. Rather, we believe that consumers should be able to have confidence that parts sold as new are, in fact, new and of an appropriate standard. This experience has also highlighted what we believe is a broader issue within the automotive industry. We strongly believe that suppliers who provide parts directly to workshops should be subject to appropriate industry standards and accountability, including consideration of membership or oversight through organisations such as the RMI. There needs to be a system that provides consumers and workshops with meaningful protection when inferior, previously used, or potentially defective parts are supp****. Suppliers should be held to appropriate standards, and there should be clear consequences when those standards are not met. We are sharing our experience in the hope that it encourages greater transparency, accountability and protection for consumers and automotive workshops alike. We have retained the relevant documentation, packaging, testing results and correspondence relating to this matter and are prepared to provide the evidence to the appropriate parties where necessary.

I am extremely disappointed with the way Goldwagen has handled what should have been a very simple refund. I purchased a number of parts for my vehicle. Unfortunately, after the vehicle was involved in an accident, the repairs could no longer proceed and the parts were no longer required. The parts I returned were unused and unopened. I contacted Goldwagen and explained the situation. I was initially told by Reece that they would arrange a cash refund, but that they first needed a few days to build up the cash. I accepted this in good faith and waited. I then followed up regarding the refund and was later told that I could instead come in for a card refund. The issue with this is that a card refund can take several days to reflect. I confirmed with my bank that it could take around seven days, meaning that after already waiting, I could potentially be waiting even longer for my money. I therefore asked Goldwagen to honour the cash arrangement that had already been discussed with me. Shaun then responded and told me that they would check with Reece and the other salesmen to see whether they could make up the cash between them, and importantly, I was specifically told that they would keep in contact with me during the course of the day. That did not happen. I have had to repeatedly chase Goldwagen for updates. I followed up again at approximately 10:20, 12:46, 13:12 and 13:47, and despite being told I would be kept informed, I received no meaningful update. This is what I find completely unacceptable. I am not asking Goldwagen for a favour. The goods were returned, the refund has been acknowledged, and I have simply been trying to get my money back. What has made this experience particularly frustrating is the constant need for me to chase them, the changing refund arrangements, and being told that I would receive updates only for communication to then stop. A customer should not have to repeatedly beg a company for information regarding money that is already due back to them. I have tried to remain patient and reasonable throughout this process, but the way this has been handled has left me extremely disappointed in Goldwagen. I would like Goldwagen head office or senior management to please investigate this matter and have my refund resolved immediately. I am more than willing to update this review if Goldwagen resolves the matter properly, but at this stage the customer service and communication have been extremely poor. I’d rate that 1 star at this stage.

Good day, I called the Ballito branch of Goldwagen twice on 15-Aug-2026 and left messages with a lady who promised to have someone call me back the same day with regard to the price on a part I require for my VW Polo. It is now 24-Aug-2026 and nobody from Goldwagen Ballito has called me bask as yet. Regards, Malcolm

Wery bad experience with Pretoria West branch. Bought a Ignition coil for my 2001 VW polo, drove the car to my work (+-65km) no problem. When I wanted to start my car to go back home my car had no spark. I went to my closest Goldwagen and bought a second new Ignition coil, and now my car is running perfect. Went back to Goldwagen Pretoria West to do a warranty claim on the Ignition coil that lasted 65km and now they want an error report and a dead coil cant give a error on a OBD diagnostics. So they don't want to refund my money.

I had a very bad experience with Goldwagen Johannesburg when I bought High Pressure fuel pump for the M274 2.0 engine on the 06 /07/2026.The mechanic installed the pump and it dismally failed to run the motor. After a week I took it back to the shop, whereby I engaged the shop manager who gave me an indication that they will need to send it back to the supplier Bosch and I'll get a feedback after 14 days.I came back for the feedack result to the manager who indicated to me that the pump that they supp**** to me its a wrong pump and I must wait for the pump to be back so they credit me because only the box packaging came back. After a few days and now the story changed it has been taken to Bosch for the test run in Port Elizabeth and recently it has been taken for the test in Germany and it tested positive. But I told them that the car is outside and drivable with the old pump and theirs can't even start the car and so many stories developed.I then requested that they sell the pump to an alternative customer and credit me so that I can look for the pump somewhere else and all of a sudden I cannot get the pump back and I have taken from pillar to post and i do not have the pump at hand and for how long its going to take to get credit returns I do not know. The Manager Clive is even now not taking my calls no more and I do not know how long is the wait because I am not even given the indication.

I bought 4 items from goldwagen in randfontein a fanbelt, the tensioner pulley, front and rear break pads for a opel astra 2001 1.8 16v on the 15th or 16th of june. I had to go back for 4 days there after to get the tensioner pulley. The mechanic who was replacing the fan belt called to tell me that the tensioner is incorrect. Not the correct one. Here is my issues. 1. The guy took my vin down. I actually had a photo on my phone of the license disc and he gave me the wrong pulley. Last wee been the 29july I attempted to replace my front break pads as the mechanic confirmed there was no need to replace them they were still good. 2 guess what the front break pads are not the correct parts for the car. I gave not even checked the back yet. My issue now is that I do not have the receipt as the mechanic throw it away after he got the correct tensioner. I do not expect my money back I just want the correct pads for the car. Surely you keep record of receipts. Only proof I can give is my bank statement showing the payment made for all these parts.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Goldwagen. I purchased a clutch kit after providing my vehicle's VIN number specifically to ensure that I received the correct part. Despite this, Goldwagen supp**** me with the wrong clutch kit. When fitting the clutch, I immediately noticed that the pressure plate was significantly different in thickness from the original. The only way anyone can determine that a clutch kit is incorrect is during the fitting process when the old and new components are compared. At that point, I stopped the installation and returned the clutch kit. To my surprise, Goldwagen sent the kit to Head Office, where my claim was rejected because they alleged that bolt marks indicated the clutch had been fitted. This reasoning is completely unfair. Of course there would be bolt marks from checking the fitment—that is precisely how the incorrect part was identified. The incorrect supply was not my error; it was Goldwagen's. I expect Goldwagen to take responsibility for supplying the wrong part and to provide the correct clutch kit without further delay. This situation has had a significant negative impact on my business. My customer's vehicle repair has been delayed, causing inconvenience to both my customer and my business, all because Goldwagen supp**** the incorrect part despite being given the VIN number. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will have no option but to escalate it by lodging formal complaints with HelloPeter and the Consumer Commission. I expected far better service and accountability from Goldwagen.
