Missing number plate after towing
My vehicle was towed by First Help to Proline following an accident. After repairs, I discovered that my front number plate was missing. Proline claims the vehicle arrived without it. I expect First Help to explain what happened between collection and delivery. This is extremely concerning.

DONT USE FIRST HELP TOWING, UNPROFESSIONAL
Utterly disgussted, asked for an invoice to make payment and they refused, no propper message or email with banking details just a photo of a paper, not even a propper proof of account, they took my vehicle to f@ck knows where instead of the machanic, its now half past 7 and still trying to sort it out. Pathetic excuse of a towing company.

Drivers are reckless!
Your driver almost took me out this morning driving absolutely wild through traffic and forcing his way into my right turn only lane from the straight only lane he was in, corner Andre Greyvensteyn and Director road, only to see him stop at Loper Ave to drop someone off? Then he wildly sped off again down Green Ave heading left, something must be done about this person and i want to know what actions have been taken against him - Plate number ***

Literally got ****med by first help while I was injured in an ambulance, they persuaded my mom to sign for
These people prey on people at their most vulnerable times, I got into an accident yesterday and the car I got hit by has insurance from king price, these guys from first help literally **** to me and said if they don't tow my car to get inspected by the insurance then the insurance wouldn't pay, mind you I could drive back home with this car but these guys literally said if I do that insurance would not cover. Honestly there should be a way to regulate or stop these people from operating, they literally make their money of ******** people in vulnerable situations, they took my car just over 1 night and to get it back is R7000 imagine and I still have to fix my car on top of that, they are very misleading and honestly shouldn't be allowed to operate this is bs.

Speeding excessively in a school zone road!
A ford ranger bakkie was speeding so fast in a street right by a creche with kids and toddlers coming out, no emergency is worth causing an accident for! I can bet you that guy was driving almost if not 100 kmph i. That street , as im.coming out of the creche parking there was a bakkie in stopped in the oncoming lane and he swerved with so much speed around that stopped car with no regard to oncoming traffic really disgusting that you dont even have the decency to slow down infront of a school zone! In St Dominic road Edenvale

*************, deceptive towing service.
I recently had an accident in Johannesburg CBD. First Help raced to the scene. I was extremely firm that I did not want them to touch my vehicle until I had received confirmation from my insurance that they were authorized to tow my vehicle. Upon receiving the confirmation, I advised the tow truck driver of the approval as well as the tow destination. He verified this by showing me a message on his phone received from Global Choices, advising him of the tow destination. A while later, when the assessor was searching for my car it was discovered that the tow truck drive decided to tow the car to Sandton and leave it at another destination, without anyone's approval or acknowledgement. Then my car is held hostage by the incorrect repair shop until I threaten them with legal action. I believe that he is working with this repair shop to force clients into using them. I am disgusted with First Help taking advantage of people especially when they are vulnerable.

Dangerous Driving by First Help Towing Vehicle in Centurion
On 24 September 2026 at approximately 09:30, I had an extremely disturbing encounter with a First Help Towing vehicle on Hendrik Verwoerd Drive in Centurion. One of their clearly branded towing vehicles was driving extremely aggressively and, while attempting to get past another vehicle, nearly drove into my car. I was effectively forced off the road in order to avoid a collision. When I tried to indicate to the driver that his driving was unacceptable, his response was to show me the middle finger and drive off. What made the situation even more concerning was that the towing vehicle did not have a visible rear number plate, which meant that I was unable to record its registration number. I understand that towing operators may sometimes be in a hurry to reach an accident scene, and this driver certainly appeared to be in a hurry. However, there is absolutely no justification for endangering other motorists in the process. A company whose business involves dealing with the consequences of road accidents should surely expect its drivers to demonstrate a basic level of responsibility and respect for road safety. I subsequently emailed First Help Towing directly and provided them with the date, approximate time and location of the incident. I specifically asked them to investigate the matter, identify the driver involved and explain why one of their vehicles was apparently operating without a visible rear registration plate. Several days have now passed and I have received no response or even an acknowledgement of my complaint. That is particularly disappointing. The dangerous behaviour of one driver is serious enough, but when a customer or member of the public reports an incident of this nature, I would expect the company concerned to at least acknowledge it and investigate. This experience unfortunately reinforces the negative perception of parts of the towing industry — that getting to an accident scene takes priority over the safety of other road users. First Help Towing: I would still appreciate a response. Please investigate which of your vehicles was travelling on Hendrik Verwoerd Drive in Centurion at approximately 09:30 on 24 September 2026, identify the driver concerned, and advise what action has been taken regarding both the driver's conduct and the absence of a visible rear number plate.
