Yuppiechef
Based on recent customer reviews, Yuppiechef is praised by a small group of shoppers for beautiful products, next day dispatch and warm after sales care, yet most feedback is sharply critical. Buyers describe orders arriving weeks late or never, missing stock confirmations, and expired gift vouchers. The strongest frustration involves premium appliances such as Dyson Airwrap, Kenwood and SMEG units returned for repair, where assessments find no fault, refunds are refused, and follow ups fall to the customer across Menlyn, Eastgate, Sandton and Canal Walk stores.

Always enjoyed purchasing from Yuppiechef. However, recently their after sales service was put to a test, as my Deebot had to undergo a repair. Aftersales service at Yuppiechef is bad, as their lack of communication on any updates was nearly non existent. They have to be prompted for a response. Decided to move on, they can throw the unit into the trash can. So much for high end Brand store.

I purchased the Kenwood MultiPro One Touch Food Processor from Yuppiechef for approximately R4,000, expecting the quality and performance advertised. It is specifically marketed as a “One Touch” machine with ice-crush technology, yet I have been told that the poor processing performance I experienced is essentially due to how I am using it. I am being advised to repeatedly stop the machine, sc**** down the bowl, push ingredients towards the blades, use smaller batches and add liquids first — the exact kind of workarounds I was trying to move away from when I invested in a R4,000 appliance rather than another R500 blender. After waiting approximately 30 days for the appliance to be assessed, I was simply told no mechanical fault was found, without addressing whether the machine actually performs to the standard reasonably expected from what it is advertised to do. I find this response extremely unsatisfactory and have therefore escalated the matter to the Western Cape Consumer Protector and continue to request a refund.

I ordered a diffuser 7 days ago, was told it takes 2-3 working days to deliver only for me to get messages of a plane being late etc. I’m very disappointed, I will never order from Yuppiechef online again.

Bought a R1,000 voucher as a wedding gift in 2023, but it completely slipped my mind afterwards since I never received the confirmation email - checked inbox, spam, and trash, nothing. Only found out it still existed via a 2026 “your voucher has expired” notice. Yuppiechef confirmed they have no delivery proof either, but can’t reinstate it due to their three-year policy. If you’re buying a voucher as a gift, confirm the voucher email actually lands in your own or the recipients inbox - don’t assume it did just because payment went through.

I am writing to formally express my disappointment and frustration with the extremely poor service I have received from both Yuppiechef Eastgate and Yuppiechef Head Office. This matter has been ongoing since 12 March 2026, and despite numerous interactions with both the store and Head Office, I am still without a resolution. Throughout this process, I have dealt with Denise Pienaar, the Store Manager at Yuppiechef Eastgate, and Cameron from Head Office. Unfortunately, despite their involvement, the issue remains unresolved months later. The item was submitted for repair due to damage that was clearly reported and supported by photographs. After waiting for the repair process to be completed, I was contacted and advised that the item was ready for collection. However, when I inspected the item, I was shocked to discover that it had been returned with the exact same damage that was originally reported. What I find particularly unacceptable is that the item was apparently returned to the store and deemed ready for collection without anyone conducting a proper inspection. Had the product been checked before contacting me, it would have been immediately apparent that the repair had either not been completed or had failed entirely. As a customer, I have been inconvenienced repeatedly over the past several months. I have spent considerable time following up, waiting for feedback, and attempting to obtain a resolution, only to be left in the same position I was in on 12 March 2026. At this point, I do not know whether the failure lies with the repair centre, the Eastgate store, Head Office, or all parties involved. What I do know is that the customer experience has been extremely disappointing. There has been a lack of urgency, accountability, communication, and quality control throughout this process. The fact that this matter has remained unresolved for months reflects very poorly on the service standards that Yuppiechef claims to provide. Customers should not have to chase for updates, wait months for a repair, and then receive an item back in the exact same condition. Due to the way this matter has been handled from start to finish, I have lost confidence in both the product and the service provided. I am therefore formally requesting a full refund and intend to return all items purchased. I hope that by raising this complaint publicly, Yuppiechef management will finally take ownership of this matter and provide the resolution that should have been provided months ago. Complaint Date: 12 March 2026 Status: Still unresolved as of June 2026 Kind regards, Lebohang Mokolokolo ***

I returned my Phillips coffee machines for a relatively minor repair, more than 2 months ago and still have not got it back. Only feedback I got was after following up as to what was happening. I was then a sent quote for the repairs. After once again following up a few weeks later, as to when I could collect the machine, was I told that there was another issue they forgot to put on the initial quote. I paid the extra amount and then was told there is a delay in getting the part.

Return Case YCR196655 -I purchased the new Dyson Airwrap for R13,999, delivered on 28 April. Unfortunately, the product does not function properly — it stops heating after about 10 minutes, making it impossible to complete styling my full hair. Due to this issue, I initiated a return on 13 May After multiple follow-ups, I only received feedback on 29 May, where I was informed that, according to Dyson, the product is “not faulty” and would be returned to me. This response is unacceptable. I clearly explained that I did not want a refund — I was willing to accept a replacement or alternative product. However, this was completely ignored, and no real effort was made to assist or find a solution. Now I am left with: An extremely expensive product that does not work properly .A retailer that refuses to take responsibility or support their customer This has been a very disappointing experience. For a premium product and brand, the level of service provided is far below expectations. ⚠️ I strongly advise customers to be cautious when purchasing from Yuppiechef. They appear to focus more on making sales than on supporting customers when issues arise.
