I would rather advise people to make use of private courier services than South African postal services
I bought an item on Ebay and it was post via South African postal service, but im waiting forever for this package. The package passed all the necessary points through South African Customs left Johannesburg Sorting center on its way to Cape Town on the 30th of September 2026 . 8 days later l called Cape Mail Customs department twice, to get clarity where and when will i receive my package but on the 8th of October they still dont know where is my package, the Lady advised me maybe sometime next week will it arrive. South African postal services really suck, no wonder most people go via private post. Unfortunately I never had an option for private courier service. The seller chose the postal service.

Post bank sassa grant cards workers at west Street ShopRite are not helping anybody
I have terrible experience with the post office workers that Are allocated in Durban ShopRite to renew the sassa grant cards, they are not working, they let us to stand in the queue for 2hrs after that they said they are not working the system is offline they took our contact numbers and promised to call us, we waited for the whole week and they didn't call I decided to go and check on the following week and they said they don't have cards, it's been 3 weeks, they wake up daily to go and sit at ShopRite with post bank tables and press their phone until the end of the day , a lot of elderly and kids that are residing around Durban Central they never get their grant on September until now cause in the whole Durban Central it is only ShopRite west street where Post bank workers are allocated for nothing just to sit there and play Thier phones

***kol Customer Service...
I've sent a couple emails to SAPO's *** trying to find out where my international parcel would be sent to, since they have close all the Post Offices in my area... Their website nicely says to contact them on that email address should you any questions/queries or need help in tracking a parcel... Well, for the past month and a half I am yet to receive any reply to the multiple emails.... "Customer Service" my ****... Even the basics is non-existent... Last tracking info is "Dispatched from Wits Mail Center on 2 Sep. '26 (23 Sep today) ...I assumed to a Post Office... It's expected Delivery Date is 01 - 30 August...

Redhill Post Office Durban
The service at this motor vehicle licence renewal facility is completely unacceptable and reflects a serious lack of efficiency, preparedness and basic customer service. The attitude of the teller at Counter 2 was particularly disappointing. Customers should not be spoken to or treated with an attitude when they are simply trying to make use of a public service. What is even more concerning is the fact that the facility has accepted responsibility for processing licence renewals, yet its photocopying machine is not operational. Instead of resolving the problem, a handwritten notice has simply been stuck on the wall informing customers that the machine is not working. This is not an acceptable standard of service. I was also informed by the staff member at Counter 2 that the *** issued to vehicle owners through NaTIS cannot be used because their system is apparently offline. This makes absolutely no sense. If the facility is able to process a licence renewal disc, it is reasonable to expect that the relevant system and *** required for that process should be functional. Instead, customers are being instructed to complete a manual application form despite already having a valid *** issued through NaTIS. This creates unnecessary duplication, wastes customers' time and raises serious questions about the efficiency of the process being followed. To make matters worse, customers are required to provide a copy of their identity document, yet the facility cannot even provide a functioning photocopying service. This entire situation is unacceptable. Customers should not have to compensate for poor planning, inadequate equipment and inefficient processes. If a facility is responsible for providing motor vehicle licence renewal services, it should have the necessary systems, equipment and competent customer service in place to perform that function properly. Management needs to urgently address these shortcomings, provide staff with clear and consistent procedures, ensure the necessary equipment is operational, and investigate the manner in which customers are being treated. Customers deserve better than this.
