Stay away, stay away

I had been a Phonetradr customer since 2017, purchasing four cellphones from their online store over the years without any problems. However, my recent experience has been very different. After paying R12,684 for a Samsung Galaxy S25 on 31 August 2026, Phonetradr failed to deliver, offered a different model, and did not refund me after I cancelled. I referred the matter to my bank and the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO), who has been very helpful. I eventually recovered my money on 26 October through my bank's Visa dispute. Had I checked HelloPeter beforehand, I might have noticed other customers reporting similar problems with Phonetradr orders. Clearly, this is not the same Phonetradr that I have trusted in the past.

Nonsense

I ordered a 17 pro max, it came without standard features that come with the 17, they refused to refund me , the gps wasnt even working, the phone kept on getting screen not original part message. They used to be good back in 2*** , not anymore! They are still ignoring my calls and ***. Mind you they took the phone back so my 21,000 and the phone are gone!

Phonetradr ****med Me!!!

I bought an iphone14 pro at Phonetradr last year and this year Feb I realized the screen was loose. Contacted Phonetradr and they didn't respond. Now in August before my phone gets out of warranty I contact them again because my software is giving me problems and my phone keeps on restarting and switching off. This happened in July and I keep on sending emails with no response. In August I finally get a respond and they say they will fetch my phone, give them the address and they come fetch it. Phonetradr receives the phone and we communicate. I ask them to fix the software. Since then I got no response. It's the third week and they are no longer responding to my emails. Can't get them on phone and this is frustrating. I need my phone back 😩. I rather go fix it myself because I am suffering at the moment with no proper phone. Phonetradr need to return my phone and we part in peace.

PHONETRADR HAS HAD MY IPHONE SINCE MARCH – I WANT MY PHONE BACK

PHONETRADR HAS HAD MY IPHONE SINCE MARCH – I WANT MY PHONE BACK I am extremely concerned and frustrated with my experience with Phonetradr. Phonetradr has had my iPhone 14 Plus 256GB since March 2026, when it was listed for sale through them. It is now September 2026 and I have neither my phone nor payment for it. After waiting for the phone to sell, I contacted Phonetradr on 13 May to ask about a cash offer or alternatively cancelling the listing and having my phone returned. After several follow-ups, on 21 May Phonetradr offered me R7,000 cash. I accepted this offer in writing on 27 May and asked what the next steps were and when I would be paid. I received no response and had to follow up repeatedly. On 11 June, I was eventually told that my device had been reserved by a buyer and that they were waiting for the client's payment to reflect. They specifically told me that they would “keep you updated every step of the way.” That did not happen. I have subsequently sent numerous emails on 11 June, 22 June, 2 July, 6 July, 13 July, 20 July and again now in September, asking for an update, payment or the return of my device. I have still not received a satisfactory response. What makes this even more concerning is that I have now logged into my Phonetradr profile and my iPhone is not showing under “My Listings” at all. Instead, my account is displaying an Oppo A54 and Samsung A54 5G – NEITHER OF WHICH BELONGS TO ME. I have screenshots of this. I then attempted to phone the contact number published for Phonetradr and received a message saying the number does not exist. At this point I am extremely concerned about the whereabouts of my property. To be absolutely clear: I NO LONGER WANT PHONETRADR TO SELL MY PHONE. I have formally instructed them in writing to cancel the listing and I want my iPhone 14 Plus 256GB returned to me immediately and at ZERO courier or other cost to me. After Phonetradr has retained possession of my device for almost six months, failed to conclude the matter, failed to provide proper updates despite countless follow-ups, and now has completely unrelated devices appearing on my account, I do not believe I should have to pay anything simply to have my own property returned to me. I have retained my complete email trail and screenshots. MY REQUESTED RESOLUTION: 1. Cancel any sale/listing of my iPhone immediately. 2. Confirm in writing where my iPhone physically is. 3. Return my iPhone 14 Plus 256GB to me immediately. 4. ZERO courier, cancellation or return fees to me. If this is not resolved urgently, I will proceed with formal complaints through the relevant consumer protection channels and consider the legal remedies available to me to recover my property. After almost six months, numerous unanswered emails and now incorrect devices appearing on my account, I have had enough. I simply want my phone back.

**** company

I cancelled my phone listing yesterday morning, immediately lost access to my account and my phone is no longer lister. I am not able to get hold of them on phone nor on email. Next steps are SAPS and Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO). Hopefully I get my phone back.
