CONTRADICTORY INFORMATION AND UNFAIR REJECTION
**Discovery Global Education – Contradictory Information and Unfair Rejection** I am extremely disappointed with the way my matter has been handled by Discovery Global Education. Following the passing of my mother in 2020, Discovery contacted me and informed me that I could apply for reimbur*****t of educational expenses that I had personally paid. During my very first conversation with a consultant, I disclosed that I had taken a gap year in 2022. I was specifically advised that I would only qualify for reimbur*****t for the period 2020–2021 because beneficiaries are not funded after taking a gap year. I subsequently spoke to several other consultants who all confirmed the same understanding. Based on the information provided by Discovery's own representatives, I spent considerable time gathering and submitting all the required documentation. After submitting everything, I was suddenly contacted by another consultant who advised me that I do not qualify for any reimbur*****t at all because too much time has passed and because I took a gap year. My concern is simple: Why was I contacted and encouraged to start this process if I never qualified in the first place? Why did multiple consultants provide the same information regarding my eligibility, only for Discovery to completely change its position after I had submitted all the required documents? I have requested that Discovery provide the exact policy clause they are relying on to reject my claim, as well as an explanation for the contradictory information provided by their consultants. I am not only frustrated by the outcome but also by the lack of consistency and transparency throughout this process. I hope Discovery will investigate this matter, provide the relevant policy provisions in writing, and explain why I was led to believe that I qualified for reimbur*****t when their current position is that I do not.

Funds
I have been waiting for my pension funds to be released for close to a month and I have been getting the runaround when calling them. If it’s not them sending me outdated links, they cannot find my details. It’s honestly frustrating and extremely bad service

Submit my documents to SARS
I moved my funds from Discovery to Sanlam due to changing jobs and the ROT was never submitted to SARS. Now I am unable to file my returns and this will lead in penalties. Kindly resolve this urgently

Change your name to 'Sorry, not sorry solutions'
I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received. This is now the fourth time in a row that I have experienced the same poor level of service, and nothing seems to improve despite repeated opportunities to correct the issue. It is incredibly frustrating to be treated as though my time and concerns do not matter. Each interaction has been marked by poor communication, a lack of professionalism, and an overall disregard for customer satisfaction. Having the same disappointing experience four consecutive times is simply unacceptable. I expected much better, especially after giving the business multiple chances to improve. Instead, the service has remained consistently poor, leaving me with no confidence that customer feedback is taken seriously. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business based on my experience. If you value reliable service and respectful treatment, I would advise looking elsewhere until significant improvements are made.

Struggles with getting Recognition of Transfer (ROT) sorted
At my previous company they made us take this investment plan through discovery. I then moved companies but also moved the retirement fund. Now with tax season there is an outstanding Recognition of Transfer (ROT) from their side. I have sent an email regarding this on the 13th of July. Received an auto response but nothing more. It is pathetic the communication to get something so simple sorted. At least aknowledge it is being looked at and give an ETA. There are no etas on the response mail.

Unable to get hold of Discovery Retirement Funds to resolve a stuck tax directive
SARS issued a Savings Withdrawal Benefit tax directive (No. ***2) in February 2026 following an application submitted by Discovery Retirement Funds on my policy. However, Discovery appears not to have submitted the matching IRP5/IT3(a) certificate for this payout, and as a result SARS has rejected my tax return. I have been unable to get hold of anyone at Discovery Retirement Funds as the calls go unanswered. This is now delaying my SARS tax return assessment I'd appreciate someone from Discovery actually reaching out to resolve this.

Discovery Retirement Funds – Months of Delays, Poor Communication and Contradictory Information
Title: Discovery Retirement Funds – Months of Delays, Poor Communication and Contradictory Information I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Discovery Retirement Funds regarding my withdrawal claim. I resigned from Ikeja Wireless on 24 April 2026 and have been trying to access my retirement fund benefits ever since. Despite numerous follow-ups, I have had to do all the chasing myself, while Discovery has failed to provide consistent communication or meaningful updates. On 30 April 2026, Discovery confirmed that my claim was being processed and that my information was being verified. Later that same day, they confirmed that my bank account and identity verification had been completed. On 5 May 2026, I was informed that the disinvestment of my retirement savings had been finalized and that Discovery would apply for a SARS tax directive. On 7 May 2026, Discovery sent me a Payment Confirmation Letter stating that my savings component withdrawal payment had been finalized. Naturally, I expected payment to follow shortly thereafter. Instead, weeks passed with no payment and no communication. I repeatedly contacted Discovery for updates. During this period, I spoke with consultants including Dean (or Daniel) and Keabetswe Nchabeleng. I was promised updates and emails that never arrived. I also sent follow-up emails that went unanswered. On 5 June 2026, I emailed Discovery requesting an update on my claim status, outstanding requirements and expected payment date. I received no meaningful response. Then, on 11 June 2026, more than a month after sending me a payment confirmation letter, Discovery informed me that there had been an "oversight" and that I had supposedly selected a paid-up member option. They requested that I choose a payment option again. I immediately responded on 12 June 2026, selecting Option 1 and requesting that my claim be processed urgently. Discovery acknowledged receipt and later confirmed that they had received my payment option and were continuing with the processing of my claim. To this day, I still have no payment date, no proper explanation for the contradictory information I received, and no accountability for the delays. My biggest concern is not only the delay itself but the poor communication throughout the process. I have had to call repeatedly, follow up constantly, and chase updates on funds that I contributed to during my employment. It should not be this difficult to obtain information about my own retirement benefit. I am requesting: 1. A clear explanation for the conflicting information provided by Discovery. 2. A detailed status update on my claim. 3. A confirmed payment date. 4. Accountability for the lack of communication and service I have experienced. I hope Discovery Retirement Funds will finally address this matter and provide the service and communication that members deserve.

Very disappointed
I initially sent a withdrawal claim form on 30 April 2026 and I clearly indicated on the form and in the email the type of withdrawal I would like to make. This took about a month to be processed and when a portion of the money was paid out; it was not the request that I had made. I sent a complaint email on the 27th of May and I did not receive any feedback. I followed up again on the 3rd of June and I am yet to receive any feedback on that email either. This is extremely disheartening treatment, especially considering that this business prides itself on providing world class service.
