Inferior Repair by Toyota Westonaria

I am highly disappointed with the service received from Toyota Westonaria. I avoid RMI-approved garages because I trust that Toyota would be able to repair my cars to a high standard. However, it appears that some Toyota garages do not employ highly qualified technicians, which risks the quality of work completed on my cars. 1. My car was undermined by technicians at Toyota Westonaria, where inferior repairs were completed. I was quoted R13,500 to replace the clutch. However, after the replacement, the car had an oil leak, which was not addressed. The car was returned to me with the oil leak. I returned the car to them to fix the leak. However, due to their carelessness, I was asked to pay an additional R1,200 on top of the R13,500 that was initially requested. I am now expected to pay almost R15,000 to replace the clutch. This is unacceptable. I will not pay this amount. Toyota needs to intervene here. Otherwise, this matter will be escalated further, which I am prepared to do. I accepted a final quote of R13,500, not more than that. If they had informed me of additional hidden costs, I would have declined the quote. I cannot pay the amount I initially did not plan to pay. This should not be done with other clients who may follow. They kept my car for two weeks, just to cause a damage to my car. Otherwise, they must pit back my old clutch and refund my money. I will take car to a different Toyota dealership for proper job if the will be skilled technicians

Toyota in King Williams Town doesn't want to pay me. For about two months ago I referred someone to buy car at Toyota in King Williams Town and they promised to pay incentive of R1000 they even requested my documents for payment but up until now I never got any payment. When I do follow up they say I must wait.

Broken processes and poor escalation process

On 2nd October I went to a Toyota website and asked if they had a mirror for my Toyota Agya which I also added all required car details. Toyota Carnival ended up calling me back regarding my request and I told them my son will come through for the purchase and payment. My son paid. When he went to get the mirror Toyota had ordered an incorrect mirror we then asked for a refund. To date we haven't received the mirror because Toyota has an issue with the fact that I requested the quote and my son paid with his card. After 4 days of waiting for a refund surely someone should have communicated to say what more could be needed for the verification. If this is not allowed why is they quote system not stipulating this and why was my son not told that his not me and can't pay with his card? We loosing clients as this car is used for business and Toyota carnival agent says he can't escalate the matter will have to wait for head office. Shouldn't your agents know if there is this issue what to request to avoid unnecessary refund delays?

Toyota Corolla Cross recall

My Toyota Corolla Cross was serviced on 26 August 2026, at Mosselbaai Toyota, at which time I was informed that recall work was required on the vehicle. Following the service, I was advised that the parts required to complete the recall were on back order. It is now 16 September 2026, almost three weeks later, and after following up again yesterday, I was informed that the parts are still unavailable, with no indication of when they will arrive. I find this extremely disappointing and unacceptable from Toyota South Africa. This is not a routine repair or a part that I have chosen to replace — it is an official Toyota recall. I would therefore expect Toyota to ensure that the necessary parts are available within a reasonable timeframe to carry out the required recall work. What concerns me further is the lack of a clear timeframe. I am left driving a vehicle with an outstanding recall, without knowing when it will be resolved. I would appreciate Toyota South Africa taking ownership of this matter and providing a firm indication of when the required parts will be available and the recall work completed. I would also like confirmation as to whether Toyota considers the vehicle safe to continue driving while the recall remains outstanding.

toyota "still getting back to me" 3 months later

I bought a fortuner.. new... cash... it has the "toyota connect" thing and APP... Car comes pre-loaded with 15gb of data (that i dont use for in car wifi) but only use to track the car wearabouts, battery level (car does under 10 000km per year) so, data ran out... i loaded data.. presto... i can see the battery voltage from my phone.... BUT the car is STATIONARY on the same spot for the last few months on the APP.... I paid for this, i paid for the DATA>... So i logged a ticket with Toyota SA in JUNE (or JULY).... got an email to say "we will get back to you"..... never did... emailed them the same email again... got the same "we will get back to you" reply.... guess Toyota is quick to take a cash buyers money, but not too keen to help when a customer wants some help.... wonder of switching from Isuzu to Toyota was the right choice hey.... (not that Isusus sales dept is perfect... they have their own issues)
