Terrible service all around, I'm going to advice all my colleagues and friends to partways with them so they don't
I honestly regret the day I joined this company, such a horrible horrible company, they gave me my funeral policy claim after the funeral, refused to give me my airtime and grocery voucher, it's now been two months since I requested a policy cancellation, but for them it took them a day to cancell all my policies from other funeral policy insurers, I am actually furious where I am because they keep on deducting my money from my *** and I want my money and partways with them

Very Disappointing Service from SENA and RMA
I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessional service from SENA and RMA. My funeral claim was submitted on Monday at 09:38, and I was advised that the turnaround time was 48 hours. When I followed up on Wednesday, I was told that the 48 hours refers to working hours between 08:00 and 16:00, which was not clearly explained upfront. The funeral is tomorrow, yet RMA has still not approved the claim for payment, as confirmed by Sbongile. I feel like I am being sent from pillar to post during an already painful time for my family. Felicia initially tried to assist, but she is now no longer answering my calls or responding to my messages. The lack of communication and accountability is extremely frustrating. Families dealing with the loss of a loved one should not have to endure this additional stress. SENA and RMA need to improve their communication, transparency and service to customers. This experience has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

Dear RMA Management and Human Resources, I am writing to formally raise a serious complaint concerning Ms Noluyolo Ngobese, whom I understand to be employed by RMA. Ms Ngobese approached me with a promise of employment and, relying on her representations, I paid her an amount of R1,000.00 in connection with the promised job opportunity. Since making this payment, I have been unable to obtain a satisfactory response from her, and she has become unresponsive despite the seriousness of the matter. I consider this situation extremely concerning. Employment opportunities are a matter of great importance, particularly for individuals who are actively seeking work and trying to improve their circumstances. To make a payment in good faith based on a promise of employment, only to be left without the promised opportunity, a clear explanation, or communication, has caused me considerable concern. I wish to make it clear that I did not make this payment without reason.

RMA Life acknowledged deductions continued after cancellation, but I am still chasing my refund
I am extremely dissatisfied with the way RMA Life / Rand Mutual Assurance has handled my policy cancellation and refund. Despite repeated follow-ups, visits to its offices and written commitments regarding payment, this matter remains unresolved. I requested the cancellation of two RMA Life policies. However, it appears that only one policy was cancelled, while deductions relating to the other continued to come off my South African Police Service (SAPS) salary through PERSAL. This is not simply a case of waiting for a refund. I have spent considerable time trying to get an explanation and recover money deducted after I had requested cancellation. RMA's own communication confirms the problem. On 1 September 2026, I received an SMS from RMA stating: "We have noted that deductions continued after the cancellation of your policy. To assess a possible refund, kindly send us your banking details not older than 3 months." I had previously supp**** my banking details when RMA requested them in connection with the refund. I had also followed up on the matter in September 2025, but it was not resolved. After receiving the September 2026 SMS, I visited RMA's offices and was assisted by Ms Rebotile Thibela. I subsequently submitted a formal written complaint on 1 September 2026, requesting a full investigation, a breakdown of the deductions, confirmation of the cancellation dates and payment of the refund due to me. On 8 September 2026, Ms Nomathemba Dube from the Retentions team acknowledged receipt of my refund documents and advised that the process would take between 14 working days and one month. I followed up again in person on 5 October 2026. On 6 October 2026, Mr Kagiso Montshonyane advised that Finance had committed to making payment by the end of that week. ( 2026-10-09) ( Friday These were specific commitments, yet I am still having to pursue the matter. When i Call the Customer Care *** i called 4 times in one instant they then hang up on me Mid conversation and never bother to return the call. I have cooperated with RMA and provided the information requested. I should not have to keep visiting its offices and sending follow-up communications to resolve a cancellation and refund issue that RMA has already acknowledged. I also have not received a satisfactory written explanation of why I requested the cancellation of two policies but deductions apparently continued on one of them. I am asking RMA Life / Rand Mutual Assurance to: Pay the full refund due for premiums deducted after the applicable cancellation date. Provide a complete breakdown of the deductions, including the months and amounts involved. Explain why one policy was apparently not cancelled when I requested cancellation of both. Confirm that all relevant payroll deductions have stopped. Provide written confirmation that the complaint has been resolved. I have retained the relevant correspondence, SMS and supporting documents. I am prepared to submit this evidence through the appropriate formal complaint channels if necessary. I am publishing this complaint because I believe the matter deserves proper attention and a clear resolution. I would appreciate a substantive written response from RMA, together with a confirmed payment date and confirmation of the total refund due. RMA Life / Rand Mutual Assurance: please resolve this matter and provide the written accountability and refund I have been requesting. Reference: ***

RMA can't do basic Data capturing.
Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA) operates a broken, negligent administrative system that severely prejudices injured workers. Following a flawed "No Permanent Disablement (PD)" determination on my Injury on Duty claim, I submitted a comprehensive formal objection on 27 August 2026. This included extensive medical evidence (Specialist Orthopedic evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and a Consolidated Medical Assessment certifying permanent occupational unfitness under ICD-10 M47.86). The submission was transmitted directly to ***, ***, and ***. The breakdown in basic competency since that date is staggering: Phantom Tracking: The RMA Contact Centre officially issued Query Reference Number *** confirming receipt. False Assurances: When I called mid-September to track progress, an agent falsely assured me that the objection was actively "under review." The 6-Week Black Hole: On a recorded follow-up call today (07 October 2026), an agent checked the system only to reveal that not a single page of my objection or medical documentation has ever been indexed or uploaded to the claim file. RMA took six weeks of my life, issued a reference number that led to nothing, gave false telephone updates, and completely failed to upload documents that were in their possession since August. When challenged, the call center's answer was that "only RMA Scannings has access to index" and that an objection review "can take months anyway." It is completely unacceptable to tell an injured, vulnerable worker who is currently without income due to workplace incapacity that six weeks were wasted because RMA staff cannot perform basic data capture. What is the purpose of issuing reference numbers if emails sent to your published addresses are simply ignored? Immediate Demands: Senior management intervention from the Disputed Claims / Legal department. Immediate tracing and manual indexing of the complete medical objection submitted on 27 August 2026 (and re-sent on 06 October 2026). Written confirmation of receipt and an expedited review timeline to compensate for the six weeks lost exclusively due to RMA's internal negligence.

Unable to claim funds
I am lodging this complaint to seek fairness and transparency regarding my Compensation Fund claim for occupational disease/injury while employed at MacSteel I was employed and worked under the exact same conditions and environment as two other colleagues. We were all sent to the SAME doctor for the compensation medical examination. My two colleagues were assessed at 85% and were paid out their full compensation. I was told I did not reach the 85% threshold and was therefore not compensated at all - despite us working in the identical environment, with the same exposure, and assessed by the same doctor. This outcome is unfair and does not make sense to me. In an attempt to resolve this matter amicably, I have done the following: 1. I contacted the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) for assistance, but received no help. 2. I approached *ProBono.org / Pro Bono lawyers* for legal assistance. 3. I personally went to the *Department of Employment and Labour - Compensation Fund* to enquire about my claim and request clarity, but I did not receive a clear explanation or resolution. 4. I have repeatedly contacted the consultants and management at MacSteel and RMA requesting a meeting to get clarity and to put this matter to rest, but they have refused to meet with me. I am not demanding special treatment. I am only asking for what is fair: - A full copy of my medical report and a clear explanation of how the percentage was calculated. - Why 2 employees in the same environment qualify and I do not. - A formal meeting with management and a chance for a second medical opinion / reconsideration. I have all my employment details, ***, and medical referral documents available on request. I am asking Hello Peter and the public to assist me in getting MacSteel and the Department of Employment and Labour to respond and give me closure on this matter. Thank you.
