Based on recent customer reviews, PSG Insure delivers a sharply divided experience. Praise centres on individual advisers and branch staff, with named brokers and PSG Assist roadside towing described as fast, friendly and thorough. Frustration dominates elsewhere, particularly around claims handling: long silences after registration, repeated follow-ups for updates, disputed assessor findings and rejections tied to policy exclusions such as gearbox and leak damage. Administrative issues also recur, including cancelled policies still being debited, refunds outstanding and cover items vanishing from policy schedules.

After the long weekend I took my wife to do her shopping on Tuesday and on our way home, the car’s clutch suddenly snapped/broke! I phone the PSG Welkom branch where Tanya answered cheerfully and after listening to my predicament, she assured me that she’ll report it to their PSG Assist office (CLC) who in turn will call me for more info and that she’ll follow up every 10 minutes. Rosie from the Assit office phoned me almost immediately and after having given her all the info she politely said that the she’ll send me, as well as the towing company the approval Reference number, which she did in quick time. The tow truck reached us within minutes after receiving the SMS approval, loaded the car and took it to the designated garage. Tanya also phoned me to make certain that I was helped. I’m so thankful that these ladies of PSG were so helpful to sort out my problem that I never worried about not being helped! Thank You PSG!

A happy, swift Outcome with PSG Insure – resulting from a strange occurrence
I own a 55-inch LG Smart TV and it has been standing (on its own legs) on a cupboard in, what we call, our TV room. It’s been great and provided lots of enjoyable viewing. It was a gift from my wife and I loved this TV. Recently, while switched off and without anyone close to it, it suddenly (plus unexpectedly) it leaned forward and fell off the cupboard onto the floor. Scary… On checking, I was saddened to note that it was not working. The few cracks on its frame I could have lived with. Anyway, I contacted PSG Insure (via email) and received a response that my email had been forward to the relevant person in the claims department. Very soon, I received the Claim Form. I actually disliked the form (I have hated forms my entire life) as it required some irrelevant input (e.g. Has it been registered with the police; Value of house contents; Is there a bond on the property). I got onto the phone to the claims department and was ‘supervised’ as to what was only needed to be included. Minutes later (probably seconds) the Claim Form was completed and submitted. The claim was approved by the Insurer (money now in the bank) and now I have the unenviable task of shopping (I’ve always hated shopping). I will be looking for one the same as my previous lovely (but deceased) TV. All-in-all superb and professional service from PSG Insure employees. Only one suggestion to PSG Insure: Have the Claim Form (instead of generic) created to reflect what the claim is about… and that way… all irrelevance will be eliminated. Closing: For those with curiosity… look up Maxwell’s Demon, where, it explains the possibility of an untouched object (in this case a well-loved, working TV) rising/falling from a surface/cupboard….

Claim not settled frustrating a customer
I feel compelled to share my thoughts about PSG Insurance so that other people are aware of their Non compliance and Zero service. When I joined they were so great until I had a claim in January 2026 until now 14 July 2026 it is not resoIved. For my claim they first sent me to a service provider who did an assessment that the fix was going to make me loose the warranty of my car, I found out when I took the report to the manufacturer. To date they have: Lack of Communication One of the most frustrating aspects of my experience has been the lack of communication from PSG Insurance. After submitting a claim, I expected timely updates and feedback, but I was left in the dark for over six months. This prolonged silence not only caused anxiety but also made me feel undervalued as a customer. Customer Service When I attempted to reach out for assistance, the responses were either delayed or unhelpful. It felt as though my concerns were not taken seriously, which is disappointing for a company that positions itself as a leader in the insurance industry. Conclusion In conclusion, while PSG Insurance underwritten by Santam may offer attractive policies, the lack of effective communication and customer service has left me frustrated and dissatisfied. I hope they can improve their customer feedback processes in the future, as timely communication is crucial in building trust and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Exceptional Service and Complete Peace of Mind
I have been a client of PSG Insure since 2021, and I can honestly say that my experience has been exceptional. And the largest part of that is thanks to our broker, Pierre Rousseau. Pierre has guided us through every step of our insurance journey, whether it has been submitting a claim, changing vehicles, updating policies, or simply answering the many questions I tend to have. He is always patient, knowledgeable, and thorough in his explanations, ensuring that we fully understand our options and coverage. What I appreciate most is Pierre's commitment to making sure our vehicles and valuable assets are adequately protected while still securing excellent premiums. The fact that we have comprehensive cover and a R0 excess on vehicle claims provides tremendous peace of mind. Over the years, I have confidently referred family and friends to Pierre, and every one of them has received the same outstanding level of service and professionalism. Despite numerous approaches from competing insurance companies, I have never found another provider that can match the combination of value, coverage, and personal service that Pierre and PSG Insure consistently deliver. If you are looking for an insurance broker who genuinely cares about his clients and goes the extra mile, I highly recommend Pierre Rousseau and PSG Insure. Their service has earned my trust and loyalty, and I look forward to many more years as a satisfied client.

PSG's bad choice of service providers
At the end of November 2025, we claimed a leaking and non-working dishwasher. PSG Insure sent out BATTS APPLIANCE AND REPAIRS (their choice of service provider, not ours) to have a look at the dishwasher. They removed the dishwasher, but decided to move our fridge because they believed there was no space to push the dishwasher through. The dishwasher is 600mm wide, and the space between the wall and the fridge is 650mm. In the process of moving the fridge, BATTS dropped the water filter, which broke and flooded our kitchen, scullery, and part of our dining room, resulting in water damage to our kitchen island. PSG does not want to cover the repairs as I do not have building insurance with them. We are with OOBA. I believe that we do not need to claim against our building insurance, as we did not cause the damage. The repairs should be covered by BATTS as it was their negligence. They were arrogant enough to tie up the water supply and leave. We had to replace the water filter. BATTS did some repairs (which were not broken) and brought the dishwasher back. It was still not working. It was sent back, and we waited a month for it to be repaired. When we received the dishwasher back, one of the side panels was skew and the front door of the dishwasher could not close properly (also fitted skew). It is now less than 6 months later, and the dishwasher has the same problem. It does not want to drain water or even wash. Our kitchen island is also not repaired. I have emailed Andile Jali and Grant Cooper on the 10th May 2026, with zero response. I want the dishwasher and the kitchen island repaired as it was before.

PSG Claims Handling/Absa Insurance
I would like to start by saying that, historically, I have had generally positive experiences with both PSG and Absa Insurance, and they have assisted me well in the past. Overall, I have been a happy client, which makes this particular experience even more disappointing. My concern is specifically around the handling of Claim Number: ***. The claim was registered on 28 April 2026, yet after weeks of delays, vague updates, and contradictory feedback, my claim was ultimately rejected based on assumptions rather than what I believe was a proper technical investigation. Throughout the process, I repeatedly followed up for updates and was informed that: --reports were still being reviewed, --a second assessor had allegedly been appointed, --and feedback would be provided “before end of day.” However: -- I never met or heard from this “second assessor,” -- no meaningful leak detection testing appears to have been conducted, -- and the assessor himself later clarified via WhatsApp that they were not certain where the leak was located and that the mention of moles was merely a possibility, not a confirmed cause. Despite this uncer*****y, the claim was still rejected with what appeared to be a definitive conclusion regarding excluded piping. What troubles me most is the disconnect between: -- what was communicated informally by the assessor, -- and the cer*****y reflected in the final rejection outcome. I do not make accusations lightly, but the overall process has unfortunately left me questioning whether the matter was handled objectively and ethically. If there were assumptions made to fit a policy exclusion without sufficient technical verification, that is something I would never condone. To be clear: -- I understand that policies contain exclusions, -- and I accept that not every claim will be approved. My issue is not merely the rejection itself — it is whether a fair and evidence-based assessment actually took place before the decision was made. My concerns are: -- No proper leak detection or technical testing appears to have been conducted. -- The assessor’s own comments contradict the cer*****y used to reject the claim. -- A “second assessor” was allegedly appointed, yet I never engaged with or saw evidence of such assessment. -- The process felt predetermined rather than independently investigated. -- Communication was slow, reactive, and lacked transparency throughout. As a long-standing customer paying premiums in good faith, I expect claims decisions to be based on verified findings and transparent processes, not assumptions or speculation. I am currently considering escalating the matter further to the National Financial Ombud Scheme. Supporting correspondence and assessor communication available on request.
