Disappointing service

Disappointing experience with Jawitz Properties Our experience with Jawitz Properties during the purchase of our home was disappointing to say the least. We are now selling the property, just nine months after purchasing it, and have incurred almost R30,000 in costs to address electrical and gas compliance issues that were brought to our attention during the selling process. Nothing was mentioned during the purchase process by Jawitz who ensured us that everything is in order. We were further very disappointed with the level of communication and support we received from the agents. We would encourage prospective buyers to independently verify the property's approved building plans and obtain confirmation of all relevant electrical and gas compliance requirements before finalising a purchase and do not trust Jawitz to take care of that. Based on our experience, we would be hesitant to use Jawitz Properties again.

Deposit Refund Efficiency

I stayed at Golden Oaks Unit ***, I will be giving my review of the efficiency of the deposit refund,as the agent specified the need for a deposit when moving in, when moving out,the same matter of urgency needs to be upheld. As of today,it has been 22 working days, whereas the agent specified that refunds are done after 20 working days. I will be providing daily feedback,in order to provide an accurate representation of the efficiency of the agent.

DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY THROUGH JAWITZ PROPERTY!

We rented a property managed by Jawitz Property for 6 YEARS, and after moving out, the nightmare of trying to get our deposit back started. The owner informed Jawitz that NO maintenance or repairs were required after we vacated the property. Despite this, Jawitz arranged for someone to inspect the property and then presented us with a quotation of approximately R9,000 for a list of ridiculous items — including things that were not our responsibility as tenants to repair or maintain. But here is where this becomes completely unacceptable: šŸ‘‰ The OWNER specifically informed Jawitz that they did NOT give permission for the quoted work to be carried out. šŸ‘‰ The work was NOT carried out. šŸ‘‰ Yet Jawitz still DEDUCTED THE ENTIRE R9,000 FROM OUR DEPOSIT. Read that again. R9,000 was deducted from our deposit for work that was never even done. How can anyone justify taking money from a tenant's deposit for repairs that were not authorised and were never carried out? Fortunately, I am in direct contact with both the property owner and the current tenant, and both are willing to provide affidavits confirming what happened. After 6 years of renting the property and leaving it, this is absolutely unacceptable. We should not have to fight this hard to get money that is rightfully ours — especially when the amount being deducted relates to work that was never completed. I have now decided to take this matter further through the appropriate channels, including SAPS and the Rental Housing Tribunal, and will be providing all the supporting documentation available to me. Think very carefully before renting a property managed by Jawitz Property.

Avoid using Jawitz Pinelands, Cape Town

Avoid using Jawitz Pinelands, Cape Town. Jawitz managed our property for several years, yet we have since discovered that annual property inspections were never carried out as contracted. As a result, significant issues went unnoticed and unaddressed, leaving us with substantial repair costs once the management agreement was terminated. Throughout the duration of the contract, we received very little meaningful property management service despite paying management fees. The lack of inspections and un-proactive management has directly contributed to the property's deterioration and the expense we've had to cover. Since ending our agreement due to ongoing poor service, Jawitz has continued to hold our tenant's deposit and has been unresponsive to our attempts to communicate and resolve the matter. Not once has Jawitz acknowledged any responsibility for their mismanagement of our property or the tenant they provided. This whole experience has cost us a lot of time and money. We are extremely disappointed by our experience and the way this situation has been handled. As a result, we will be lodging a formal complaint with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA). Based on our experience, we would strongly caution other property owners against using this branch.

********* business practice

Very bad treatment my family and I have received from Jawitz. Granted, because my partner gets paid late, we've always paid our rent and was upto date. However, Jawitz would always *******ly cuts off our electricity before the 5th day of the month (So grace period doesn't apply to them). Got tired of the treatment and got a court order to reinstate our electricity - which they didn't even contest because they knew they are in the wrong and abusing their power. We suffered loss of income during that period as my husband works from home. Recently we have been harassed by managemen, coming to the house at night ordering us to vacate. We are actuallyfed up and said we needed a month to secure a place that is also closer to the kids' schools for easy commute, but they bluntly rejectedour request. Followed by letters from their "lawyers" giving us only 3 days to vacate, mind you the numbers on the letterhead of their "lawyers" don't go through and the law firm turns out to be a furniture shop. Very ***** business practice. Our shared community lights and water bill were tweaked and higher than neighbour's bills, when we questioned that we got ignored and demanded we pay that bill, hence our electricity got cut off.

JAWITZ PROPERTIES

I recently enquired about a property in Rivonia. The estate agents, Sasha and Luke, sent us voice notes and provided an address for the viewing. After driving a considerable distance to the property, it became clear that this was not the property I had originally enquired about. We had effectively been sent to view a completely different property. When I contacted the agent to query the situation, he responded in a very arrogant and unprofessional manner. Instead of addressing the issue, he explained that the property I had enquired about required too much maintenance and would not be a good purchase. That decision should be left to the buyer. To make matters worse, when I expressed my dissatisfaction, I was told, "If you want to leave, then leave." I found this response extremely dismissive and disrespectful, particularly after the time and effort we had invested in travelling to the viewing. This was a highly disappointing experience and a complete waste of our time. Based on the service I received, I would not recommend this agent and would encourage sellers and buyers to carefully consider who they choose to work with.

Appalling Service(s)

Worst service(s) ever! I live in a property managed by Jawitz Properties(Boksburg-Village Mews). I complained about cleaning services and a cat in the yard, as the property is not pet friendly. This was on the 27 of March. Instead of solving the problem(s) there's been a back and forth between them, myself and the landlord about sharing pictures, asking who the cat belongs to, that they'll communicate with the caretaker. Until today nothing had been done. It's appalling that I even have to share pictures just to get services I pay for.
