CARJET, stay on your jet as you will not get your car.
the poorest and most abusive and ill-mannered ********s in the car rental business. I rented a car paid in full plus the suggested insurance premium only to arrive at O.R.Tambo on Sunday afternoon, as per my booking, only to be told that the car will not be handed over to me due to a credit score issue. I've never heard of this BS and to be left standing on the pavement with my luggage on a Sunday afternoon is totally unacceptable. I can also tell you that they do not have a manned office. I was advised to contact the office if i had a problem and i was informed that there is no one at the office. Of course trying to get a refund you are sent from pillar to post and no real person is available to speak to you, i believe these people are from some foreign country as the language they reply to your refund request is Spanish or something. just be assured you will be taken for a ride they are very good at taking your money and then they disappear or hide behind a foreign country account.

Terrible aftertaste
Extremely Disappointing Experience with CarJet and Green Motion Car Hire – Avoid! Our experience with CarJet and Green Motion Car Hire was absolutely unacceptable. What should have been a straightforward car rental turned into a stressful, frustrating and extremely expensive experience. Based on what we experienced, I would strongly advise other customers to think twice before booking with this company. 1. Double insurance charges at OR Tambo Airport We booked and paid for our rental car and insurance through CarJet on 26 June 2026. At the time of booking, we were offered additional insurance that would reduce the security deposit. We accepted this option and paid R685.15 for the insurance. Reference number: SXXU-PYPR-INS Policy number: CJT***8 When we arrived at OR Tambo Airport to collect the vehicle, we struggled to find the rental agents. There was no proper office; instead, two representatives were operating from the parking area using tablets. We were then informed that we had to purchase their insurance to qualify for the reduced deposit. I explained to the representative that we had already purchased insurance through CarJet and showed her our policy documents. However, she paid very little attention to the documents and simply told us that it was not their insurance. We were left with no reasonable alternative but to pay an additional R600 for insurance at the collection point. This meant that we had paid for insurance twice. The R4,000 security deposit was also placed on hold against my credit card. This was a deeply frustrating start to our rental experience. Customers should not be put in a position where they pay for insurance twice because the booking arrangements between the booking agent and the rental company are not properly explained or recognised. 2. Their incorrect location caused us to miss our flight On 27 September 2026, when we had to return the vehicle, the company sent us a pin location to find their staff and hand over the car. Unfortunately, the location was incorrect. We drove up and down approximately three times trying to find them, wasting around 45 minutes. When we eventually stopped at the location provided and tried calling them, nobody answered the phone. While we were waiting, another vehicle belonging to the rental company drove past us. The occupants had to signal for us to follow them so that they could show us where the actual handover point was. Only after we finally found them did they inspect the vehicle. By then, we were extremely late for our flight. We were supposed to board at 12:30, but because of the time wasted trying to locate their staff, we missed our original flight. We had to pay an additional R1,800 to be placed on a standby flight. Fortunately, there were seats available on a later flight at 16:30. This was an incredibly stressful situation that could have been avoided if the company had provided the correct location and answered their telephone. 3. Additional parking charges at Cape Town Airport We also had to pay R750 in parking fees at Cape Town Airport, when the amount should have been only R300. This resulted in an additional R450 in parking costs. To summarise the direct additional costs resulting from these problems: • Additional insurance at collection: R600 • Standby flight penalty after missing our original flight: R1,800 • Additional airport parking costs: R450 Total additional costs: R2,850. This excludes the original R685.15 insurance payment made through CarJet, which we believe was duplicated by the additional insurance payment at collection. 4. Unacceptable handling of the R4,000 security deposit We were advised that our R4,000 security deposit would be released within 13 working days after returning the vehicle. When the deposit was still not available, I contacted the company to enquire about the delay. I was informed that a letter had already been sent to my bank on 28 September 2026 instructing the bank to release the hold. However, instead of the process being completed as expected, I had to obtain a letter from the company and personally visit my bank to have the deposit released. I finally did this myself, and my bank restored the funds to my credit card. Why should a customer have to spend additional time following up and physically visiting the bank to resolve a deposit release that should have been handled properly in the first place? My overall verdict This experience was characterised by poor communication, inadequate customer service, confusing insurance arrangements, an incorrect vehicle return location and an unnecessarily complicated deposit release process. The most frustrating part is that we suffered financial losses and considerable stress because of problems that could have been prevented with proper organisation and customer support. A car rental company has a responsibility to provide clear information, honour the arrangements made during booking and ensure that customers can return vehicles without being put at risk of missing their flights. In our case, that did not happen. I am extremely disappointed with both CarJet and Green Motion Car Hire. I would not choose this service again based on this experience, and I would strongly encourage prospective customers to carefully investigate the insurance terms, vehicle collection arrangements and return procedures before making a booking. This was not the convenient and reliable car rental experience we paid for. It was an expensive, stressful and deeply disappointing ordeal. I hope both companies take this complaint seriously and review their procedures to ensure that other customers do not have to go through the same experience.

Carjet - your worst nightmare
Was not able to collect the car at George airport due to the fact that my licence expired. I tried to cancel whilst I was at the counter at the airport. The system is not user friendly. They refuse the refund the insurance money. No risk to them but they keep my money. The e mail address is *** flight was on the 21 st. According tobtheir system it was still the 20th. The person at the airport counter couldnt even give me a contact no. He said it was a third party company.

****** vehicle booking funds - Ref no: CJT-***
I booked a vehicle with Alamo car rental online on carjet platform on 12 June 2025, for 31 days to 13 July 2025. I arrived at 10:45 at Alamo OR Tambo Airport to fetch the vehicle. Alamo immediately voided/canceled the booking. A cancelation voucher for the amount of R5 358 was sent to me by Alamo. However, Carjet refused to refund me, even though I canceled before the stipulated time, and neither did I take possession of the for even 1 second. Carjet later sent me an invoice for €35.98 \ R730.68, but still refused to refund the R5 626 payment they deducted from.my account the 31 days booking. It was a complete and classic ***** by CarJet that must be exposed. Reference no: CJT-***

Be aware of unexpected car hire charges and hidden fees
I booked a car rental without realizing that CarJet was acting as the broker for Pace Car Rental. When I collected the vehicle, I had to pay the full rental amount directly to the rental company. To my surprise, I was also charged by CarJet for 57% of the rental cost as a brokerage fee. I tried to recover this unexpected fee, but my attempts were unsuccessful. My advice is to be very careful when booking through CarJet. Make sure you understand exactly what charges are included before confirming your reservation. I would also be cautious when booking with rental companies, including Pace Car Rental, that have agreements with CarJet, as you may end up paying significantly more than you expected.

Avoid CarJet and Flex To Go! They operate a highly predatory **** designed to ***** pre-paid money and force double-priced upgrades
Avoid CarJet and Flex To Go! They operate a highly predatory **** designed to ***** pre-paid money and force double-priced upgrades. They lure you in with cheap online rates but hide vicious terms—like a strict 1-hour pickup grace period and zero-refund policy. To trap you, they withhold your voucher containing the fine print until you arrive or the cancellation window hits. At the desk, clerks claim you're a "no-show," pocket your money, and say no cars are available at that price. Seconds later, a vehicle appears—but only if you pay double or triple on a new contract. CarJet’s support is aggressive and will hang up on you. Don't trust their website's high rating. Statistical analysis proves they are astroturfing to drown out complaints; at least 20k of their 120k reviews are guaranteed **** bots. Check Trustpilot's 8,000+ 1-star reviews to see the truth. Even if you get a car, they will ***** you with small print. Save yourself the ******ion and book elsewhere!

Outstanding service!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Service! I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Tempest Car Hire at Kimberley Airport. From the moment I arrived, everything was handled incredibly quickly and professionally. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and eager to help with anything I needed. The collection and return process was fast, smooth, and completely stress-free. Booking through Carjet made the experience even better. The prices were unbelievably affordable compared to other options, and the value for money was outstanding. I honestly couldn't believe how much I saved while still receiving such excellent service and a great vehicle. The combination of Tempest's amazing customer service and Carjet's unbeatable prices made this one of the best car rental experiences I've ever had. If you're flying into Kimberley and need a rental car, I highly recommend them. Fast, friendly, professional, affordable, and simply exceptional from start to finish!

This company CARJET must be banned from the rental Car hiring platforms. I booked a rental car through them, Citroen C3. I paid for the full insurance more than R3100. That includes that more than one person can drive the car. And you only pay the access money if the car is really damaged. After I paid on their website the full amount I received after a few hours a voucher plus confirmation of payment. It showed that I only paid R1957.77 and I need to pay access of R9000.00. I planned to sort this out when we land at the airport. I really thought they had a office like all the other rental companies. But No. Instead Green Motion rocks up with another vehicle. Not even the one I paid for and they said I need to pay first the R9000.00 and ONLY I can drive the car. Totally opposite what I paid for. I felt that I was bull**** by the company CARJET. I left the car and we rather ubber to the place where we wanted to go. I came back from holiday and wanted to reverse my payment. They refused I noticed at other reviewers that they did not even get their deposits back that arranged from R9000 to R30 000. Might be even more. Noway this company CARJET just want to ****** you of your money. Do NOT use it trust them. They are a BAD company.
