Please watch out for car service fairview Gqeberha
Be careful of car service city. They are not honest, cheap or reliable. I took my polo to them because my car was using alot of water. They replaced my expansion bottle *** thermostat housing *** antifreeze *** and my heater valve ***. My car still used water. I took it back to them their master mechanic they swear by assured me there is nothing wrong and he cant find any problem he ran all the tests. I took the car for a second opinion that cost me more money. I gave them a call to tell them I would like to get a refund on my labor because I cant get a full refund because the parts are in my car. The owners son answered and just rehe****d what he was trained to say by apologizing. I took my car back the third time the owners son booked my car in and the owner looked over the work and ran a chemical test. Come to find out the head gasket is blown after being told they ran all the tests and everything was fine. Luckily the owner knows what he is doing when it comes to running tests. I recieved a whats app just with an amount of how much it will cost to do the head ***. When I asked for a detailed quote the owners son ignored me he saw the message and decided not to reply. I took my car to a mechanic to do my head overhaul on my vehicle. While they were stripping my car i saw the wonderful arts and crafts session car service city fairview had on my parts they over charged me on. I decided to give them a call the owners son asked for a picture I sent it to him all he did was ignore me again. I had to message him multiple times to get a answer when he finally decided to answer he gave me a arrogant answer and blocked me. If they can do it to me they can do it to you too be careful. Alot of the older community brings their cars to them I should think twice they might just take advantage of our elders too. Car service city in fairview should rather open a call center because the secretary is the only person that knows what she is doing over there.

******** - JD at CAR SERVICE CITY, CRAIGHALL
Two weeks ago I received an SMS indicating that CAR SERVICE CITY CRAIGHALL had a 50% special on refilling car aircons. I called and spoke to JD who confirmed the same special and I took my car in the next day to have the car aircon regassed. I asked if I could have a look while they regassed the aircon as I find this quite a fascinating processes. They mentioned NO in an abrupt way ... The customer has to wait in the waiting area and if there are any issues I will be informed thereof. I found this quite strange but didn't think too much of it. A while later they said the car was ready and all was good. I tested the aircon and to my surprise, it was blowing out HOT air . JD then came to the car and mentioned that the CONDENSER was faulty and would cost R10k to R15 k to fix. I asked JD to come and look at the car while we tested the aircon and he flatly refused , indicating that it was definitely the condenser that only stopped working when they regassed the aircon. VERY STRANGE ...I had tested the car aircon before coming to CAR SERVICE CITY, CRAIGHALL and it was working okay . The air was not getting very cold , hence my reason for regassing the aircon. I took the car away and had the aircon regassed elsewhere. To date all is the fine - NO CONDENSER or ANY issues at all !!! This is just a **** used by JD from CAR SERVICE CITY, CRAIGHALL . The RED FLAGS were : 1. Customer are NOT allowed to see the car aircon regassing , like they have something to hide. 2. Supposedly when the car was regassed they told me it was working fine , when in fact it was blowing HOT air 3. JD mentioned that the condenser was faulty and refused to discuss that any further or even look at the car with me. 4. Condenser and the aircon is working fine when regassed elsewhere. JD at CAR SERVICE CITY, CRAIGHALL are definitely ******** at work... Kindly be careful out there !!!

Poor service and damaged vehicle
They do not even deserve the one star I gave them. If you value your vehicle, I would not recommend using this service provider. During my experience, my ABS pump was damaged, and although I was promised that the cost would be covered, this never happened. On a separate occasion, I took my vehicle in for a major service, but the handbrake was not adjusted, the foot brakes were not checked, and the vehicle was returned without engine oil. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of workmanship and the lack of accountability shown. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business.

Serious Lack of Responsibility and Professionalism from Car Service City Constantia Kloof
Serious Lack of Responsibility and Professionalism from Car Service City Constantia Kloof I am extremely disappointed with the service and treatment I received from Car Service City. I trusted them with my vehicle, but the experience has resulted in major inconvenience, repeated breakdowns and serious financial damage. Before my vehicle went into their workshop, it did not have the serious noise that developed afterwards. Shortly after they worked on the vehicle, it started smoking and making a very concerning noise. Because I was worried about the condition of the car, I returned it to the workshop and clearly explained the problem to them. I gave them enough time to carry out a proper inspection and identify the cause of the noise. After keeping the vehicle for several days, they informed me that everything had been checked and that nothing was wrong. I trusted their professional assessment and continued using the vehicle. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards, the car broke down on the road and had to be towed. This was not the end of the problem, as the vehicle later required towing for a second time. My biggest concern is not only the mechanical failure but also the way Car Service City handled the situation. When a customer returns a vehicle and specifically reports a new and serious noise, the workshop should investigate it properly and provide a clear technical explanation. Simply saying that everything is fine, followed by the vehicle breaking down shortly afterwards, raises serious concerns about the quality of the inspection and the level of care given to my vehicle. Their response after the breakdown has also shown a complete lack of responsibility and professionalism. Instead of properly investigating the full history of the vehicle, reviewing the work carried out and considering the fact that the problems started shortly after their service, they simply denied responsibility. They also focused on saying that they did not work on the gearbox, but that does not address my main concern. My vehicle did not have this serious noise before going into their workshop, and they failed to identify the problem when I specifically returned the car and gave them the opportunity to inspect it. I am not asking anyone to accept responsibility without a proper investigation. However, I do expect a professional company to take a serious complaint seriously, review the work performed by its technicians and provide a proper technical response. Unfortunately, I have not received that level of service or accountability. This vehicle is important for my work and travelling, and being left stranded on the road twice has caused major disruption and stress. I have now completely lost confidence in this workshop and would not trust them with my vehicle again. The situation has left me facing repair costs of more than R100,000. I am requesting that Car Service City’s head office investigate this matter properly, review all the work and inspections carried out on my vehicle, and provide me with a formal response and a fair solution.

Car Service City Head Office and Stonewood Branch- ********* and Unprofessional
I booked an appointment at Car Service City Stonewood on 10 July 2026 for a brake inspection and any necessary repairs on the brakes. I was told the estimated repairs would cost approximately R5,500. When I booked the vehicle, I was expecting it to be completed that day. I dropped it off at 07:00, but later in the afternoon I was told the vehicle would have to remain overnight. I was initially told that the wheels/bearings had already been removed and that the vehicle could not be returned, and later I was told there were two vehicles ahead of mine. I eventually insisted on collecting my car and was charged R684.25 for the inspection, despite not proceeding with the recommended repairs. I subsequently requested the written inspection report and quotation, but despite following up by phone, WhatsApp and email, I never received the inspection report. (I called their head office a few times and was promised the report today 17 Aug 2026, which has still not been emailed). Because I could not get the requested report, I obtained an independent inspection from another company. I was advised that the brake pads and discs did not require replacement, which conflicted with the diagnosis I had received from Car Service City. The independent inspection also did not result in an inspection fee being charged. There was also confusion regarding a R400 discount that I had been told I would receive if I proceeded with a quotation, but I was subsequently told that this did not apply to the inspection fee. What concerns me most is the combination of the conflicting explanations, the inspection fee, the failure to provide the inspection report and the conflicting diagnosis. I also requested confirmation that the vehicle had been correctly reassembled and returned in a safe and roadworthy condition after being told that the wheels and bearings had been removed. I gave Car Service City an opportunity to resolve the matter and requested a refund of the R684.25, but the matter remains unresolved. Their latest response states that they are willing to reconsider the matter if I provide the independent report, but they refuse to provide an inspection report or refund the inspection fee. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Car Service City Stonewood for vehicle inspections or repairs without getting everything in writing beforehand, including the inspection findings, quotation, work to be performed and all applicable fees. I spoke to someone at the gym the other day and another guy walking by commented about the poor and unprofessional service he got. I will never make use of this unprofessional and ********* company. The are the worst, save yourself the trouble and money and go to a reputable company instead.

********* Business Practice
Car Service City in Vincent East London performed a diagnostics on my vehicle for an electrical fault which i told them what the symptoms were. After performing the diagnostics they then said i must now take the vehicle to an auto electrician. They charged me R700 for the diagnostics. I questioned why they did not tell me upfront that they would not be able to repair the electrical fault. They then said to me that they charging me for the diagnostics for the noise in the front of the vehicle. I said to them that was not the reason i brought in the vehicle. Since they were doing the electrical diagnostics they might as well do the cv diagnostics. Last year in November i had asked them to check the noise in the front of the vehicle and they said all was fine. They were very ********* in their conduct by misleading me knowingly that they would not be able to repair the electrical fault. They gave me a diagmostics report which does not indicate what the exact fault is. I contacted the manager Ricky, who was rude and abrupt and he told me i must speak to his workshop manager as he did not work on the vehicle. This is ************ and ********* behaviour.
