Afrihost is a **** !!!
They are a ****. You pay every month but only get around 10 days of SIM service before they block it, claiming that you've changed location—even when you haven't. You then have to wait another 4 hours for them to unlock it, which is ridiculous. You spend the rest of the day without a connection, and they make no effort to provide an alternative while they supposedly fix the blocked SIM. Absolutely terrible service and a complete waste of money.

Poor client service from Afrihost
I logged a fault with Afrihost on Wednesday 16th September 2026 via whats app and given a reference number *** as apparently the issue was with Openserve. On Thurday 17th September, a technician has still not been to my place. Friday morning 18th a technician eventually comes saying they cannot assist and just left. Saturday morning 19th, still no technician and throughout this process, Afrihost has not been able to assist, only thing they could do was escalate to Openserve and pass the blame. Surely, if this is to happen, they should find alternatives for their client's, perhaps a router. Because of this 3 days downtime, i was not able to submit my assignment and failed the module. And Afrihost will not reimburse me for downtime. Is this the type of service we as South Africans should just tolerate. Paying for a service and not being able to use it. Afrihost is shamefull. I would advise people not to join them rather find an alternative ISP

Never again
⭐ 1 Star – Completely heartbroken and disappointed I honestly never thought I would be writing this review. I recently signed up with Afrihost and was so impressed with the onboarding that I actually left a 5-star review praising them. Unfortunately, everything changed. An Afrihost agent advised me to make an immediate EFT for my router delivery, which I did, and I sent proof of payment. I was also advised that I could settle my prorated September amount at the end of September together with October. Despite this, I started receiving repeated suspension notices. I contacted WhatsApp support multiple times, sent my proof of payment again, and was given Ticket ID: ***. I was told the accounts team would investigate. Nothing was resolved. Then today, Friday 18 September, my internet was disconnected at around 6pm. I begged for help, explaining that I work from home and my son needs the internet for his school projects. I was simply told that the accounts team doesn't work weekends and I have to wait until Monday. I am honestly distraught. Being left without internet for an entire weekend over an account issue that I have repeatedly tried to resolve is incredibly upsetting. The saddest part is that I genuinely started off believing Afrihost was going to be an amazing ISP. I was happy enough to recommend them publicly. Now, only shortly afterwards, I feel completely let down. I just hope someone at Afrihost sees this and understands how badly this situation has affected my family.

Afrihost.com has been nothing but a let down. No communication from their side. We were constantly uninformed and unaware of what is happening. Third parties would call us to arrange for servicing we didn't even know was happening. They put us on the wrong package and wouldn't respond to us. Took us 2 months and counting to get the fibre working properly. A consultant named Beverly eventually helped us out quite a lot but to no avail. She was great though. Honestly, a horrible experience. Would not recommend Afrihost.com.

Worst experience ever to date would never recommend them.
I have never been so disgusted by the service rendered by this ISP I would never recommend them as they are not worth it. Order a metro fibre package through them filled in my address and all checked out there was fibre in my area that was on 09th September, there after started following up and was told that metro fibre is only dealing with live not new sign ups so I told them that there after people in my complex using Metro fibre and also one person using them from there on I also sent pictures of the box outside the cabling outside and the fibre cable coming into my unit no luck, I went as far as calling metro fibre and they said there is fibre in the addresses mentioned and that the fault is with Afrihost not them, they even offered me a package but i told them its out of my budget range i wont afford it, but yet all I was told by Afrihost is that I should cancel the order and send back the router. Wow like is this how customers are treated. I'm sorry but I will never recommend you to nobody the ways inwhich you do business Afrihost is really appalling and disgusting.
