Based on recent customer reviews, Restonic is drawing consistent criticism over mattress durability and warranty handling. Buyers from Sleepmasters, OK Furniture, Lewis, Bradlows and HomeChoice report sagging, body impressions, exposed springs and noisy bases within months of purchase, often leading to back and neck pain. Complaints commonly stall after photos and videos are requested, with claims declined for stains or a 4cm sag rule, or replacement offered only if customers pay a large share. One shopper praised consultant Stacia for finally authorising a credit and refund.

Horrible experience
# Russells and Restonic: Faulty Bed, Poor After-Sales Service and Unacceptable Lack of Communication I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the treatment I have received from both Russells and Restonic regarding a faulty bed purchased from Russells in April 2026. After only a few months of use, the bed began making excessive squeaking noises. Concerned about the quality and durability of the product, I contacted Russells to report the problem and request an exchange. Russells responded by requesting proof of purchase and my delivery address, which I provided as requested. However, despite cooperating with the company's requirements, I have received no meaningful feedback regarding the resolution of my complaint. I have been left waiting without a clear explanation, an indication of the next steps, or confirmation of when my issue will be addressed. In an attempt to get the matter resolved, I also contacted a Restonic agent and provided videos demonstrating the problem with the bed. I expected the matter to be taken seriously and investigated by the manufacturer or its representative. Instead, the agent has failed to respond to me for approximately two weeks. I find this behaviour particularly disappointing. I took the time to record and submit videos to demonstrate the defect, yet I have been met with silence. It is unacceptable to ignore a customer who is actively trying to provide evidence and cooperate in resolving a product complaint. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that neither party has provided me with a satisfactory resolution. Russells has failed to communicate meaningfully after requesting my documentation, while the Restonic agent has failed to respond after receiving the videos. As a customer, I should not have to chase both the retailer and the manufacturer's representative simply to have a potential product defect investigated. I purchased this bed in good faith, expecting a product of satisfactory quality and durability. Instead, I have been left with a bed that makes excessive noise during use, an unresolved complaint, and an extremely disappointing after-sales experience. Both companies should understand that customer service does not end once a sale has been completed. When a customer reports a potential defect, the appropriate response is to investigate the issue, communicate clearly and work towards a reasonable resolution. Ignoring correspondence is not an acceptable way to handle a complaint. I am raising this matter publicly because my attempts to resolve it through the appropriate channels

Restonic bad quality matrass
I am lodging this complaint on behalf of my mother, who purchased a Restonic bed from OK Furniture in December 2024 in Port Sheptone .The bed comes with a five-year warranty, yet it has already have problems . The bed is no longer straight and level as it was when it was new.My mother can now feel the springs pressing against her body when she sleeps. This has made the bed extremely uncomfortable and has affected her ability to get a proper night's rest. My mother is 60 years old and is still working. After a long day at work, she deserves to come home to a comfortable bed that provides adequate support. It is deeply disappointing that a bed purchased with the expectation of quality to receive this treatment. My mother has already lodged a complaint with Restonic , but she was informed that the bed must have a visible hole before her complaint can be considered. We find this response unacceptable and disrespectful.Must a customer wait until a mattress develops an actual hole before a complaint about its quality and to be taken seriously? The fact that the springs can be felt through the mattress and that the mattress is loosing its shape .They also asked her to take pictures of the springs. How ?when the springs are in the mattress ? The purpose of a warranty is to give customers confidence that they are protected should qualifying product defects arise within the specified period and the bed is still under warranty. We would like to understand why a visible hole is being treated as a requirement for assistance when the mattress is no longer providing the comfort and support expected of it. We are requesting that OK Furniture and Restonic take this matter seriously, arrange a proper inspection of the bed, and provide a fair resolution in accordance with the applicable warranty terms. We would appreciate a written response explaining how this matter will be resolved. My mother paid for a product that she reasonably expected to last, and she should not have to endure an uncomfortable sleeping experience while being turned away because the mattress does not have a visible hole. We look forward to a satisfactory response and resolution from OK Furniture and Restonic.

Extremely disappointed with Restonic and Sleepmaster Protea Glen.
I purchased a Restonic bed from Sleepmaster Protea Glen in May 2024, expecting a quality bed that would last for years. Unfortunately, by January 2025, less than a year after purchasing it, the bed had already developed serious problems, with wires/springs popping out and making it extremely uncomfortable and difficult to sleep on. I continued using it because this was my first time purchasing a bed and I honestly did not know that I could report the problem. Eventually the condition became so bad that I started experiencing severe back pain and had to attend physiotherapy. By April 2026, I could no longer use the bed at all. What is even more disappointing is that after finally contacting the store to report the problem, I was told that I would have to pay 70% of the price. How is it reasonable for a customer to pay thousands of rands towards a replacement for a bed that became defective within such a short period? I mean I purchased this bed in good faith, expecting a durable product. I am extremely disappointed with both the quality of the bed and the proposed solution. A bed should not become unusable after less than two years. I really hope Restonic and Sleepmaster will reconsider how they are handling this matter and take responsibility for a product that has clearly not met reasonable expectations of quality and durability. I would not recommend purchasing a Restonic bed based on my experience.
