Based on recent customer reviews, MyCiti is drawing sustained criticism from Cape Town commuters. Riders report buses running late, skipping waiting passengers or not arriving at all, especially on the Omuramba and D04 routes. Faulty and expired cards, plus point transfers left unresolved for months, frustrate paying passengers. Station controllers are described as inattentive and unwilling to manage boarding queues, while cockroaches on buses raise hygiene concerns. Fare increases, double tapping and the Civic Centre arrangements for Khayelitsha riders deepen anger, though a few drivers and call agents are praised.

Myciti is the Pits
Myciti is the pits They can never help My monthly got ****** in July and they refused to assist me in transferring my monthly to another card then I lost my new myciti card again which I loaded out R400 on 28 July and I submitted all documents…affidavit, old card number …literally everything but I was already concerned as I stood there because the way they were handling the paperwork of other people that was laying there so here we are mind August and the points have still not been transferred. The workers at the station just keeps on shouting, don’t come to us, city of Cape Town will email you. But that’s unfair… I had also load points on a card online and when I got to the validator it said expired. I find myciti and their practices really complex

Myciti Poor Customer Service
I have repeatedly experienced poor customer service from MyCiTi controllers. Too often, controllers are not standing on duty and ready to open the station doors when buses arrive. Instead, passengers are left trying to get their attention while they sit on their phones. It should not be the customer's responsibility to call a controller to do their job. A simple greeting, being alert, and appearing approachable would also make a significant difference, especially for passengers needing assistance or information. The bus schedule displays are frequently inaccurate, making it difficult for commuters to plan their journeys. In addition, the level of driver tardiness is unacceptable. While I acknowledge that there are many professional and courteous drivers who provide excellent service, the inconsistency is frustrating. Even more concerning is that there have been occasions where I have been waiting at a stop, the bus arrives, and the driver simply refuses to open the doors and drives away, despite passengers waiting to board. I also contacted the Transport Information Centre, which informed me that my emails had been forwarded to MyCiTi. It has now been more than two months without any acknowledgement or feedback. This lack of communication demonstrates poor accountability and disregard for customer concerns. Given these ongoing service failures, it is difficult to understand or support fare increases when many commuters continue to experience poor service, inaccurate information, delays, and unanswered complaints.

utterly disappointed
If I could give it a 0, I would. The card was faulty, and needed a replacement. faulty as in Mycitis machines wasn't accepting it...anyway, logged a complaint in June already and yet no transfer of my points has been done. I was told it was gonna be transferred to the new card THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR BTW which I was not supposed to pay for! MyCiti your service sucks. Your support team, Aqeela keeps on repeating herself with automated responses. Absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever.

SECLUSION OF KHAYELITSHA COMMUTERS FROM CIVIC CENTRE BUS TERMINAL AND DOUBLE TAPPING FOR MOVER PURCHASERS BECAUSE OF THAT CHANGE
MyCiti just kicked Khayelitsha commuters outside Civic Centre Bus Terminal since June in Winter and we haven't been attended even though we complained about it and also people who are mover purchasers pay double the price on top of the 50% increase as they have to tap twice from/to Civic Centre to board another bus. Can you explain now why we must wait in the cold as Khayelitsha commuters are kicked out of Civic Centre Bus Terminal with no shelter in a dangerous place. What's even worse is that the prices went up by 50% and the double tapping as movers purchasers is killing us because we have to tap out from the Civic Centre bus terminal point and also tap again in the bus outside the bus terminal where we board the D01 and D02 buses. Commuters from other routes are not affected and this seclusion shows us that they don't care about us Khayelitsha riders, even worse than Apartheid segregation. Do contact me by phone on *** and by email at ***

MyCiti Bus Omurumba to Adderly route is a mess.
I have had many instances where this bus does not show up for over 30 minutes. Today, I reached my peak because I am a young woman with a work routine that involves taking a bus from my residential area and connecting to a train to get to work. A bus from Omurumba to Adderley did not show up on Narwhal and at Biscuit Mill for over 35 minutes at each stop. I had to make alternative arrangements for Biscuit Mill so I could at least get to work on time. This was after I had already logged an official complaint, where a lady took down all the details and logged the call. She was quite helpful. After not receiving my reference number within the provided time, I had to call back. The gentleman who assisted me gave me the reference number, but could not provide an estimated time for when I should expect feedback. He used phrases like “first come, first served” and was unable to pull up the details of my complaint. I also asked for a review page, and he failed to provide that as well but gave me an email instead. After finding this review page with a 2.1-star rating, I understand why. I work in customer service myself, and basic human engagement is crucial, especially when you are failing to deliver a service. I took the time to call about a service that is not being delivered, after I have already spent my own money on it. My biggest concern is that buses from Adderley to Omurumba are on time, but buses from Omurumba to Adderley seem to operate as they please, without considering the impact on people like me who rely on punctuality for work. My Punctuality affect my work Performance! Register that.... If the buses are not running back to back, they are extremely late. People complain about this all the time, and if this continues, it will eventually lead to organised protests. We cannot continue paying for a service that we are not receiving. I'll chose not to dwell on Customer service and not disclose any names as this review may affect them, but you really need to work on this specific route. It's getting worst by the day.
