Terrible after-sales service and warranty service
I am very disappointed with Mahindra. My mother recently had a problem with injectors on her XUV300. Mahindra Pretoria North attempted to fix a completely wrong part. Mahindra Hatfield had her diesel tested, and then cleaned the old injectors and had it re-installed and the vehicle was still giving the same problem. It seems like no Mahindra dealership is willing to do an ordinary warranty claim. Mahindra Hatfield also **** and gave us the run around for three weeks while she was sitting without a car. This was our family's 4th Mahindra, and as a result, we won't buy another one. I wanted a Scorpio N but this is so concerning that I won't purchase a Mahindra car again.

BRAND-NEW MAHINDRA XUV700 – FOUR BREAKDOWNS IN FIVE MONTHS AND STILL NO RESOLUTION!
tle: BRAND-NEW MAHINDRA XUV700 – FOUR BREAKDOWNS IN FIVE MONTHS AND STILL NO RESOLUTION! I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the treatment I have received from Mahindra South Africa and its dealership regarding my 2026 Mahindra XUV700 Black Edition. I purchased this vehicle brand-new on 19 May 2026, expecting reliability, safety and peace of mind for myself and my family. Instead, what should have been an exciting purchase has turned into an absolute nightmare. Within just three months of ownership, my vehicle started experiencing serious mechanical problems, including engine shaking, loss of power, engine warning lights, repeated spark plug failures and excessive white smoke from the exhaust. Timeline of events: * 23 July 2026: Vehicle taken for its first service. * 18 August 2026: Vehicle broke down and was towed to the Mahindra Alberton dealership. * 4 September 2026: The same mechanical problem occurred again, disrupting our planned family holiday. I had to rent another vehicle at my own expense. * 26 September 2026: The vehicle experienced the same problem yet again. * 8 October 2026: I returned the vehicle to the dealership following continued mechanical problems, clearly stating that I no longer wanted further repairs and was requesting a replacement or refund. Despite multiple repair attempts, the problem has continued. I was previously made to pay approximately R900 for spark plug replacements, which I was told were not covered by the warranty, even though the vehicle was practically new. Most recently, I was informed that the dealership had removed the engine cylinder head to investigate oil entering areas where it should not be. I have now been told that the vehicle may potentially require an engine replacement. HOW DOES A BRAND-NEW VEHICLE REQUIRE SUCH MAJOR ENGINE WORK WITHIN FIVE MONTHS OF PURCHASE? What makes this situation even more upsetting is that Mahindra continues to focus on repairing the vehicle while disregarding my repeated requests for a replacement or refund. Under Section 56 of the South African Consumer Protection Act, consumers have rights regarding defective goods within six months of delivery, including the right to choose an appropriate statutory remedy where the requirements of the Act are met. I have lost confidence in this vehicle. My family's safety, our finances and our daily lives have been affected by these repeated breakdowns. I have continued paying for a vehicle that has repeatedly failed to provide the reliability reasonably expected from a brand-new car. My request to Mahindra South Africa is simple: I do not want another temporary repair. I am requesting a replacement vehicle of acceptable quality or a full refund, in accordance with my consumer rights. I am calling on Mahindra South Africa to take responsibility, address this complaint at senior management level and provide a fair, written resolution. I am sharing this experience publicly because no consumer should have to fight this hard for accountability after purchasing a brand-new vehicle. Mahindra South Africa, how many times must a brand-new vehicle break down before you acknowledge that there is a serious problem?

Terrible after sales service on a new vehicle
5 weeks to repair faulty spark plug coil. 1 week later problem reoccurred. No apologies and we were refused access to the general manager to complain. No feedback while the car was in the workshop and we were told they cant guarantee the car will be fixed properly as they can only replace what the computer tells them to. Car was 400 kms from 30k service they refused to service the car while it was there as it was to soon. 1 week later the car service light came on.

Left front shock discontinued
Only Left front shock on Mahindra xuv500 discontinued., not other three. Cannot give reason, only reply that vehicle is 14 years old. So older vehicles parts not important enough for Mahindra SA.

Terrible
At this point, I honestly have to ask: when does this end? After months of ongoing issues with my brand-new Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5, multiple visits to dealerships, battery replacement, software updates, further diagnostic investigations and various other interventions, I was asked to allow a camera/monitoring device to be fitted to the vehicle so that the reported stalling/no-start issue could finally be captured on video. I agreed and cooperated — again — because I simply want the problem properly documented and resolved. Today I have been sitting at the dealership for approximately an hour, only to be told that the camera was never recording. So once again, I have lost my time, my work is being affected, and I am left with the same unresolved vehicle problem. This is not simply an "inconvenience" to me. I work. I have responsibilities. I have to pay for this vehicle, yet I continue to spend my own time dealing with a problem that has been ongoing for months. What is particularly frustrating is that I have continued to cooperate with every request made of me in an attempt to assist with finding the cause of this fault. Yet I am still sitting here asking the same question: How many more attempts, visits, tests, devices, diagnostics and hours of my life must be spent before this matter is actually resolved? I am exhausted. I am frustrated. And frankly, I feel completely unheard. I did not buy a brand-new vehicle so that I could become part of an ongoing process of trial and error. I am sharing this publicly because consumers deserve to know what the experience can look like when a serious, recurring vehicle problem remains unresolved for months. I just want a safe, reliable vehicle and a proper resolution. Is that really too much to ask?
