Huge Inconvenience
I wanted to hire a car from them ,then they deducted R3960.00 from my account but when I went to collect a vehicle ,they said my credit status does not allow me . Here I am ,thinking I am renting a car ,not buying it ,but told that my credit score is low . Now am loosing the business ,due to their system incompetency ,I was going for a business trip to Mpumalanga. 3 days have passed and I can't even go to another place to hire for enough days ,because now they are keeping my money for me , I am soo fed up witb this place . I hired so many vehicles from Thrifty ,before their merger, now they coming with these tricks . Can they pay my money back now it's been soo long now ,that's too much .

I rented a car in 2020 August and they gave me a car with a license disc that has expired of which I got a fine for,I call to enquire they assured me that they will pay for the fine. But they did not as I found out today. I tried to renew my license today but I couldn't because of that fine of which they assured me they will pay.

Exceptional Service at Thrifty/Hertz Cape Town International Airport
I have been doing long-term car rentals with Thrifty/Hertz for nearly a year now, mainly because of the amount of mileage I travel every month. Their monthly rental rates are absolutely superb and extremely reasonable. But what really stands out for me is the incredible team at Cape Town International Airport. They have absolute angels working there, especially Kyle and Hennie (Hendrik). ❤️ Thank you both for always looking after me, for being so incredibly professional, and most importantly, for providing exceptional customer service every single time. There genuinely isn't an issue or request that these two boys can't find a way to sort out. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they always go the extra mile with a smile. I am truly humbled by the way you look after your customers and make what could otherwise be a simple car rental experience feel so personal and effortless. Thank you, Kyle and Hennie, for everything! You are an absolute credit to Thrifty/Hertz and deserve to be recognised for the fantastic service you provide. credit card reserved amount
Fair pricing on rental vehicles. However, they take too long to release the hold on the credit card reserved amount for insurance. I returned the vehicle on 25 Dec 2025, it is now 14 Jan 2026 and the money is still reserved. The agent mentioned that it takes 5 working days to release the funds, however when I later enquired with customer services, they mentioned it takes 7-21 working days.

I have been trying to rent a car from thrifty website for 4 Dec / 5 Dec from CPT Airport Error keeps on coming up I called the number from the website , a person by the name of Imaad answered when he tries to book from his side , rental fee is much higher than the website I tried booking online from different devices , different days - still error pops up Imaad cant give me another customer service number Imaad cant give me email address to contact Imaad says number on thrifty website is for HERTZ Thrifty management should fix this error and improve their customer service Can some one please call me with a solution or book a car for me THank you
