I have been in bed after seriously hurting my back. I am not allowed to visit a hospital and according to the insurance, I have exceeded my total allowed doctors visits. I must get urgent medical attention as I busy loosing mobility. I can't sleep or eat because of the pain. I am paying every month for the full insurance cover, but I am not allowed to use any of it. I hope someone from Dischem Health Insurance can contact me urgently and tell me what to do.

Dischem Health tells sick patients that they cannot go to a doctor because their symptoms does not qualify them to speak to their doctor in person. After being asked my symptoms I am told my symptoms do not warrant me going to my family doctor and that I have to speak with their virtual doctor. So you expect me to share my medical history with a stranger on the phone - a person who can't check my temperature, hear the tightness on my chest, give me any injections - why, why can I not see my doctor when I pay you guys every month and this would only be my 5th visit to the doctor for the year. So I ask the consultant what the difference is as I would like to see my doctor, is it because you do not want to pay my doctor and she tells me no we pay the virtual doctors as well. So pay my doctor and let me see the health care professional I am comfortable with. Also to be told over the phone my symptoms are not severe enough for physical examination how can that determination be made after speaking with me for not more than 5 minutes when I am struggling to get my words out because of a heavy chest. You are dealing with people's health at least act as if making money is not your only concern.

I signed up for Dischem Health in July, effective from 1 September, the debit order reflects on ny bank statement today, but to date I have not received any email correspondence with my Policy details. It's been more than a month I signed up and all my efforts of contacting Dischem telephonically have been useless!!! I sent an email a few weeks ago about the Policy and all I received was Welcome new Member email. Absolutely useless and unacceptable that in 1 September like clock work the debit order was effected, but no communication or Policy documents. THIS IS *****!!!!!!

My experience with Dis-Chem Health has been extremely disappointing. It feels like they look for every possible reason to reduce or avoid paying claims in full. The policy wording states specialist consultations are covered up to R2,000, yet my claim was only paid at a much lower tariff rate, leaving me significantly out of pocket. I am also currently experiencing issues with a PathCare claim. I paid the out-of-network specialist consultation myself, and my understanding was that the related PathCare pathology costs would be covered. However, the claim has not been handled as expected, and I have had to spend time following up and disputing the outcome. The benefit wording and the actual claim payments do not seem to align, which is frustrating as a paying member. Instead of peace of mind, every claim feels like a battle. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dis-Chem Health. They don't even deserve a one star

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received regarding my request to upgrade my policy. I have been attempting to upgrade my policy *since July 2026*. On four separate occasions, I have called in and been told that my call is being transferred, only for the call to be dropped before I could be assisted. I have also sent emails and lodged complaints, none of which have been resolved. This morning at approximately 08:00, I received a call from one of your agents who advised me that she would forward my details to another agent who would call me back within five minutes. I waited until 09:00 and no call was received. Subsequently, at approximately 16:30, I received a call from an agent who stated, "I hear you are looking for insurance, how can I assist you?" I explained that I had been waiting for a call to assist me with upgrading my policy. The agent assured me that she would ensure the call would not be dropped and advised that she would do something on her side to prevent this. Despite this assurance, the call was dropped. Prior to being disconnected, the call went to an automated voice prompt stating "press 1 if you are requesting an ambulance," which I did not understand, as I was informed that measures had been taken to prevent the call from dropping. Today I was also provided with a number which I was told would be free to call, however, I was charged for the call. I find this level of service unacceptable. I had intended for this upgrade to be effective by month-end.
