Stay away

My experience with Dis-Chem Health has been extremely disappointing. It feels like they look for every possible reason to reduce or avoid paying claims in full. The policy wording states specialist consultations are covered up to R2,000, yet my claim was only paid at a much lower tariff rate, leaving me significantly out of pocket.

I am also currently experiencing issues with a PathCare claim. I paid the out-of-network specialist consultation myself, and my understanding was that the related PathCare pathology costs would be covered. However, the claim has not been handled as expected, and I have had to spend time following up and disputing the outcome.

The benefit wording and the actual claim payments do not seem to align, which is frustrating as a paying member. Instead of peace of mind, every claim feels like a battle. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dis-Chem Health. They don't even deserve a one star
