I purchased the Kenwood MultiPro One Touch Food Processor from Yuppiechef for approximately R4,000, expecting the quality and performance advertised. It is specifically marketed as a “One Touch” machine with ice-crush technology, yet I have been told that the poor processing performance I experienced is essentially due to how I am using it. I am being advised from De’Longhi group to continue repeatedly stopping the machine, sc**** down the bowl, push ingredients towards the blades, use smaller batches and add liquids first — the exact kind of workarounds I was trying to move away from when I invested in a R4,000 appliance rather than another R500 blender. After waiting approximately 30 days for the appliance to be assessed, I was simply told no mechanical fault was found, without addressing whether the machine actually performs to the standard reasonably expected from what it is advertised to do. I find this response extremely unsatisfactory and have therefore escalated the matter to the Western Cape Consumer Protector and continue to request a refund.

I contacted De'Longhi 2 weeks ago and reported that the Heater that I have, literally burst into flames in my home. I had to stick my hands into the flames to turn the gas off to AVOID an explosion. No, it was not the gas bottle, the heater was on, and suddenly a noise went off and i turned around to see the Heater in flames. Based on the reports currently on Hello Peter, they don't seem to respond AT ALL.

It’s a mix review. My coffee machine, a bean to cup has been a brilliant device in my house for a number of years. I saved up for ages to buy it as we are not a wealthy family. It started to give a small issue, so I decided to take it in for a service. It had some excess steam coming out of the water spout every now and again, but still ground and pored amazing coffees. No issues. After taking it to the delonghi service agent, I told them the issue and they said it’s fine they can fix it. When I got my machine back, the steam had stopped, but they made it worse. It stopped making coffee shots, or every third or fourth attempt would work, wasting tons of coffee and rendering it unusable. I made a request on the deoinghi website, in January. I received a phone call two weeks after, and the agent understood my problem, took down our original job card number and said he would get back to me with a solution. Months went by and I heard nothing. I decided about three weeks ago, to do another online request with delonghi. I still haven’t received a call back. I am so disappointed that the service agents messed up my machine. It was at least very usable. It went in for a simple seal replacement and came back unusable. It’s as if a part that was working was removed and a unworking part put in so I would pay for further repairs. You can’t send your car in for wheel alignment and it comes back undriveable. That’s what happened and Delonghi now just leave me. I think this is unfair.

The most atrocious service received. It took them more than 3 weeks just to service my coffee machine. More importantly there is NO communication or feedback unless you phone in and query!

I bought a De’Longhi La Specialista Opera new from Takealot (±R12k–R13k). It made excellent coffee for about three weeks, then developed serious issues: an abnormal boiling-water discharge during steaming (with unusual internal noise), followed shortly after by a complete power failure where it would flash briefly, shut down, and then not power on at all for multiple days (tested across different plug points). Takealot referred me to De’Longhi/Philtec (appointed service agent). Philtec kept the unit for extended testing but ultimately advised “no fault found” because they couldn’t reproduce the intermittent failure, and no replacement/credit was authorised. The unit has now been returned to me. Two things left me extremely disappointed: 1) Warranty process feels meaningless for intermittent faults. A brand-new machine can fail, yet if it happens intermittently and can’t be reproduced in a workshop, you’re effectively left without a remedy. 2) The unit was returned in worse cosmetic condition than it was sent. I sent a spotless, near-new machine (I’m meticulous and it had only been used for ~3 weeks). It came back with visible dull scratches/scuffs on the front stainless area/display fascia and a small ding—damage that was not present when it was collected I understand service agents can only act on what they can verify, but the overall experience was deeply frustrating and left me feeling helpless as a consumer. I would not purchase De’Longhi again based on the warranty support and handling of the unit.

My delonghi Magnifica Start has broken down twice under it's 2 year warranty. Delonghi are refusing to cover the repair as they say the warranty label behind the water tank has been removed. I was never notified of this label and have no recollection of it being moved. I was told that it would never come off itself by Sershan. I have taken impeccable care of the machine and kept my proof of purchase. But Delonghi refuse to even consider to help, even though my warranty period isn't over. Delonghi had the chance to make right, but chose not to. I will not be purchasing Delonghi products going forward

Poor experience - phoned 08h05 for spares, was promised a call-back, by 09.15am non-received - receptionist DID warn me some staff would be fixing tea/coffee, so may not be at their stations! Called back again, very poor call quality, else assistant had receiver way away from her mount. Requested a part for a Domestic 600 under-counter oven, she QUICKLY told me they were only 'small appliances, and I should phone another number, but after insisting that 600 ovens WERE small appliances, she reluctantly agreed to help me (disclaimer - I had left the model number at home... :( ) Was a poor experience - attitude was how I can NOT help you - despite me having a friendly demeanor, and calling back after an hour had passed... Can do better - Delonghi! Chris ***
