Based on recent customer reviews, Boston City Campus draws sharply divided feedback. Students repeatedly praise individual student advisors and support centre staff at Polokwane, Roodepoort, Welkom, Randburg and Cape Town Central for warm, patient, proactive guidance that helped them achieve distinctions. Criticism centres almost entirely on the shift to digital only textbooks, with learners citing eye strain, unfriendly Snapplify and Buku apps and no hard copy option. Others report unanswered emails, delayed graduation invitations, bursary and refund uncertainty, and run down facilities at the Centurion and Pretoria campuses.

Absolutely love Boston, except for one new change they've made.

I absolutely love Boston! Their staff is always friendly. They are very helpful and very professional. I love studying with them, however I am truly disappointed that our textbooks are digital now, it is quite an adjustment that I am not particularly a fan of

Good Review About Soweto Support Centre Student Advisor: Luvuyo Mpongo

Good day, I truly hope this review finds the right people because honestly it's rare to see a good review about the student advisors that do their work so exceptionally well and with urgency. Luvuyo Mpongo being one of the best student advisor I know from Soweto Support Centre. He is honestly so far the best student advisor, he knows the meaning of being a student advisor for the students he is assigned to. I just wanted to put it out there since it's rare to review someone's good work.

Please reconsider the textbook situation.

I love the idea of distance learning because it allows me to continue to work full-time. However, this semester has been the worst semester I've had to deal with. The main cause of this is the whole textbook situation. I understand all the features (read aloud, download for offline, it's available on a laptop and cellphone), however, it is not the vibes at all. Some people like myself work better with a hard copy. I love that I'm sometimes able to pick up one of my previous semester textbooks and pull information from it when needed. I work 10 hours a day, in front of a computer the whole shift, and the last thing I want to do is go onto another screen to study. With that being said, it has already demotivated me from actually studying, and it's reflected in my marks this semester. I've had multiple distinctions in the past 2 years, and this semester is the first time I have a module that I may need to redo completely. This semester would've been one of the most important for me because this semester's transcript would've allowed me to apply for an internship through my company. I wish you Boston City Campus could please reconsider the way the textbook situation is being handled. A suggestion would be to allow students to choose whether they want online books or hard copies, and if needed, the students who want hard copies can pay a bit more than the online textbook user. But I think that would be a good compromise because this is affecting more than just me and can be seen by previous reviews on this platform as well. I'm urging the organisation to please reconsider the textbook situation.

Frustrated with Lack of Textbook Options

Good day Boston, I would like to raise a serious concern regarding the textbook policy. At present, students are not given the option to choose between online textbooks or hard copy textbooks. This has been extremely frustrating, especially for those of us using company laptops where the website triggers policy restrictions, preventing access to the online textbooks. Personally, I find it very difficult to study online. With exams this week, I can honestly say that the lack of access to hard copy textbooks has made studying unnecessarily stressful and frustrating. I strongly urge Boston to reconsider this approach and allow students the choice of format that best supports their learning.' Thank you

Boston City Campus Ignoring Graduates – Graduation Invitation Crisis

I am absolutely appalled by the service—or lack thereof—from Boston City Campus. My graduation is scheduled for the 26th–29th of May 2026, yet as of today, I have still not received my official invitation. I have been sending emails for weeks only to be told to 'wait a week' for a response, or worse, my emails and calls are now being completely ignored. I have provided my student number multiple times via their chat and email support, yet I am being met with a wall of silence. This is not just a 'delay'—this is a lack of respect for students who have worked hard for their degrees. Because of their incompetence, I cannot finalize my travel arrangements or book a professional photographer, which requires advance notice. I have reached out to multiple people and the Arcadia branch, and no one is helping. Boston City Campus is ruining what should be a celebratory milestone. I demand that my invitation be sent immediately and that someone from the Head Office contacts me to resolve this. Do not ignore your students once you have their fees.

Digital-Only Textbooks – No Practical Support for Students

I want to share my experience with Boston City Campus so that other students can make an informed decision before enrolling. I have raised multiple concerns about being required to use only electronic textbooks, with no option for physical copies. I explained clearly that I struggle to study from a screen due to eye strain and limited access to suitable devices. Despite this, I was repeatedly offered “support sessions” on how to use the platform, which does not address my actual problem. I did try to adapt by printing the one module that was available in PDF, and it made a big difference in my ability to study. However, no similar alternatives were provided for my other subjects. I want to be clear that my concern is not about refusing to use technology, but about having realistic access to study material in a way that allows me to succeed academically. Unfortunately, I do not feel that my situation has been properly considered. This experience has had a negative impact on my studies and exam preparation. I will be completing this semester, but I have decided that I will not continue my studies with Boston City Campus. I hope that by sharing this, other students will carefully consider whether this learning approach will work for them before enrolling. I believe students should have more flexibility when it comes to accessing their learning materials, especially when it directly affects their ability to study effectively.
