bidorbuy
Based on recent customer reviews, bidorbuy receives mixed feedback from a long-standing user base that values the platform as a leading South African online marketplace, yet expresses growing frustration with recent operational changes. Loyal members consistently mention safe transactions and a strong selling community, while a recurring theme involves dissatisfaction with courier partners, delayed payouts, and unreachable delivery services. Sellers raise concerns about shipping fees eroding margins, removal of useful site features, and a review moderation process that customers feel unfairly favours sellers and undermines trust in ratings.

I purchased a 9ct white and gold ring on Bid or Buy last year in June for 3500. I recenly had the ring together with my other jewelry tested for insurance purposes. I was stunned and disappointed to learn that the ring is not gold, the tester that was used turned the band of the ring bronze. This indicated that the ring is not gold. Both the seller, goes as abargainonline and Bid or Buy have not provided resolution and further to that my ratings and payments made to the seller have been removed off my profile which is suspicious and dishonest behavior . Truly disgusted with the lack of accountability from both parties.

While I enjoy shopping on Bobshop, the delivery experience for Order #***1 has been a nightmare. It took 16 days to receive a package paid for on 18 April. Your partner, RAM Couriers, failed at every step—from late collection to holding my package for five days after marking it 'out for delivery.' Most concerning is that RAM is completely unreachable via phone and WhatsApp, leaving me with no way to track my paid goods. As the platform I paid, I expect Bobshop to hold your couriers to a higher standard and provide a resolution for this massive inconvenience.

I’ve been selling and buying items on Bobshop for almost 10 years. My agonies started with the R30 that sellers have to pay (for orders over R100) for the shipping. Losing money on almost every sale, and I can’t increase my prices, otherwise my customers will look elsewhere. Then they removed the ‘Recent Sales’ tab, which I frequently used as both a buyer and seller. Why would you remove it? Then last week days they have started removing quantity indications next to product categories, which is super-annoying both as a buyer and seller. Also, they now list all the categories for each seller, whether you have those products or not. Now it looks like you as a seller can’t be bothered about listing items? I only use about 5 different categories when listing items, but every single one gets displayed, and if you click on them, nothing. It looks bad. Dear Bobshop, it’s all in the details! I’ve already sent several suggestions to them about this, but as expected no response. It’s still the best platform for selling items online in SA, but it feels like they are just changing things for the sake of changing things. Sound fami****?

I gave this guy "Visuallife Gaming Tech" a bad rating because the service I received was terrible BidorBuy contacted me and asked whether I was happy with the product (which is a different issue all together)and swiftly removed my rating. I have been a member since 2004 and I cannot believe this. What is the reason for rating a seller then? The service I received still sucked and I will never buy from "Visuallife Gaming Tech" again and will recommend you don't either. I think it's time to rethink using BidorBuy in future as the ratings are skewed and cannot be trusted

I have not shopped on bidorbuy for a long time and decided to give it a try again. Boy what a disappointment. Really inflated value prices on rather cheap products so people think they are getting a bargain. I have found that people are buying cheap stuff on Temu and selling it at inflated prices here. Please take a photo of what is being advertised here, check the price on Temu or google and get a proper market related price. Then you know wgat the item is really worth. Shopping here has left a bad taste in my mouth.
