Based on recent customer reviews, AA Warranties is drawing heavy criticism from South African motorists over claim outcomes and contactability. Policyholders repeatedly describe valid mechanical claims for turbos, ball joints, clutches, cambelts and gearboxes being rejected as wear and tear, underpaid, or blocked on workshop authorisation technicalities. Many report unanswered claims lines, automated email replies, stalled policy cancellations and disputed telesales add-ons linked to Marquis finance. Positive exceptions exist, with consultants such as Thobela and Thato praised for taking ownership and resolving claims quickly.

Disappointed with AA Warranties – Even Their Platinum Cover Let Me Down
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with AA Warranties and their AA Velocity Platinum policy, which is one of the higher levels of cover offered under the policy range. I submitted a warranty claim for the intake air regulator flap on my standard Volkswagen Polo 6R GTI, only to be told that the component is not covered under my policy and that AA would not repair or replace it. During a telephone conversation with a representative, I was informed that R2,500 was available as a benefit under my policy. I initially disputed the claim decision because I wanted clarity on why the component was excluded and whether the claim had been assessed correctly. What frustrates me most is that I took out the AA Velocity Platinum policy expecting meaningful protection against unexpected mechanical failures. I chose this level of cover because I expected a reasonable degree of protection, yet I am now left having to arrange and pay for the repair myself. This experience has seriously undermined my confidence in the value of the policy. I am requesting that the R2,500 benefit be paid directly into my bank account so that I can arrange the repair myself. I have also decided to cancel my policy because I no longer feel confident continuing to pay premiums for cover that has not met my expectations. Customers deserve clear explanations of what their policies cover, transparent communication when claims are rejected, and fair handling of benefits communicated by representatives. I would appreciate AA Warranties resolving this matter by confirming the payment arrangements for the R2,500 benefit and processing my policy cancellation. Paying for Platinum-level cover should give customers confidence in the protection they have purchased. Unfortunately, my experience has left me extremely dissatisfied and questioning the value of the policy.

BAD SERVICE
This is the 2nd time using their service plan everytime it is a hussle to get POP even after sending all the documents on time. There's a guy called Tukela he gives 0 F**k about customers it takes him 2 hours to download a simple POP. Even their managers they do not care. Be warned do not take any of their services.

Be Warned
I recently took out a car warranty with AA and the sales consultant did not disclose very important infomation and after more than a week in still waiting for the call transcript. I received a surprise debit on my account on a date not agreed to yet I am the one made to wait. Please tread carefully with AA warranties.

Disgusting service no claim payment
Zero customer service. I submitted a claim, the claim was approved on 25 August but no payment. I sent all requested documents 5 times to payments and they keep requesting the same documents. Called 4 times before someone asked me for another document. Don't waste your time with this insurance, it's not worth what you pay.

Cancel AA Warranties.
Extremely Disappointing Service This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I contacted the company because I wanted to cancel my ***, and instead of assisting me, the advisor placed me on hold and then disconnected the call after approximately 10 minutes. I find this completely unacceptable. If a customer is requesting to cancel a ***, they should still receive professional and respectful assistance. Disconnecting the call without resolving the matter is extremely frustrating and leaves the customer with no option but to call again. I would appreciate an explanation for what happened and a prompt resolution to my cancellation request.

Got coerced with false information
Got coerced into getting a contract, believing that AA knew when my current contract would end. I want out before I get billed on the first of next month.

I’ve had enough of AA Warranties
I’ve had enough of this company, I submitted a claim 2 weeks ago of 4 coil packs they insisted on paying only 2 that was damaged even though they were told by the Workshop that replacing only 2 will be a waste because eventually the other 2 will give in in no time. They only approved the 2. And indeed few days later the other 2 coil packs gave in and i’m back to square 1 my car is not driving again, i submitted a claim for the second 2 last week friday. Till now there has been no feedback, i have to travel a long distance on friday but my car is not driving.
