*********** Server Migrations and No Fai***** – Completely Useless for Business Hosting

Xneelo’s handling of this ongoing Johannesburg shared hosting disaster is completely indefensible, and it affects businesses all over South Africa.

They are a major web host, yet they think it's acceptable to run heavy, unmitigated storage and operating system upgrades live on production servers during broad daylight. Where is the basic engineering competence? Where is the contingency planning? Why wasn't this done safely in a controlled maintenance window at night, and why weren't shared hosts migrated safely to alternative servers or fai***** nodes before tearing up the live infrastructure?

Instead, companies—including manufacturing hubs and everyday businesses—are left completely blind in the water for days. Email pipelines are dead, IMAP connections are timing out, and communication with major clients is grinding to a halt.

Their only response is hiding behind vague status page updates telling everyone to just deal with the bottleneck while they scramble to fix their own self-inflicted mess. It shows a staggering lack of respect for customers whose livelihoods depend on this infrastructure. If you're going to run enterprise-level shared hosting services, you don't treat production environments like a live laboratory experiment and expect businesses to just absorb the commercial damage. Absolutely useless.

Hi Paul, thank you for sharing your experience.

We’re genuinely sorry for the disruption this incident has caused and understand the serious impact that ongoing email issues can have on your business and your ability to support your own customers.

While extensive testing was carried out before these changes reached production, we recognise that the experience you’ve had has fallen short of what you should expect from xneelo. Our platform engineering teams have been fully focused on mitigating the issue and restoring stability over the past few days.

We also appreciate that you have valid questions and concerns about how this occurred and how it has been managed. In addition to a full incident report, a senior technical support consultant will contact you directly to discuss these with you and provide as much clarity as possible.

We’re truly sorry for the frustration and disruption this has caused.
