Two days ago I posted photos from Joe Al****a competing in the ‘N2 Challenge Portugal End to End’. The objective was to post photos of the Challenge daily as Joe posts them to Strava. This morning I had a most enjoyable hike and had just arrived home as another power outage started. I had to wait 2 and a half hours for the electricity to be restored… the challenges of today’s living in South Africa.
I tried to login to https://fitandfunnow.com/ and despite the security I have, the site had been hacked… I was no longer able to access the admin area with my own login…
I tried to create a new password and… this was not possible. The hacker had done “a good job”!!!
One possible solution would be to restore the website to what it was the last time I worked on the site (2 days ago). This particular website of mine is hosted with https://xneelo.co.za/. The company is based in Cape Town.
I phoned Xneelo and spoke to Jonathan (if your website is hosted with this particular company you can phone them 24/7). Jonathan recommended me to change the password via phpMyAdmin and over the phone he went through each step of the process. Eventually I was able to change the password. Once in the Admin area I deleted a couple of users and attended to a few other relevant issues.
Jonathan is very knowledgeable. Over the years the few times I have had to contact Xneelo I always get incredibly competent service.
Kudos to Jonathan and to Xneelo. If you need a good hosting company I can highly recommend https://xneelo.co.za/
Keep up the good work👍👌👏
