Wirulink - Useless & Unhelpful!
Good day all, I highly recommend not signing any 12/24 month contract with wirulink. I took over the account from my sister due to her not needing it anymore, so far so good. Then my Fiance and I moved, I checked coverage of the area we moved too and there was coverage so start making plans to get the wifi installed, firstly R2500 to get them to come install, I give the go ahead, installation team comes but guess what because there signal dish is so sensitive and needs actual line of site to the tower the dish cannot get signal because there is a tree in the way, they do an investigation to see if there's other solutions 48hrs later and I get response " we apologies but at the moment we cannot assist in getting you signal. You've been put on a list to be informed of when a tower will be installed closer to you". Now here comes the fun part, I enquire about migrating the account to Fiber that would cost me R8000 for 10 months left of a contract! I understand that I need to pay for the equipment however now I am also paying for the wifi line which I am not able to actually use. I phone to find out if they can downgrade my account and get told "Its a 24 month contract which cannot be changed and that it isn't in your hands that I moved". Firstly - it is your problem because I am paying you for a product/ service that I am not able to use due to your over sensitive equipment and secondly - your robbing me of the ability to find another wifi company that can actually offer me a service you can't and not to mention that I have now extra expenses due to having to buy data every month and pay for your useless, thieving service of which I have no access too. The only pro is that I was not charged for when the installation team came out to install and couldn't.... I am in the customer Service Industry and to tell your customer it isn't in our hands that you moved, is utter bull****! Your website showed I have or had coverage so you are liable!
Although we would love to be able to provide quality connectivity to every person and address in South Africa, this is practically and financially impossible.
When you do a network coverage/feasibility check at www.wiru.co.za/coverage, you will see the following statement on the results page: "Results are calculated using software checks based on location, terrain and services available in the area and does not guarantee that the services above can be installed at your location. Feasibility can only be confirmed on site by our technical team."
When you originally signed up for the wireless service, you opted to go for a longer term agreement to avoid paying upfront installation fees. WIRUlink absorbed these costs and need to recover it over the agreement term.
For this reason, we unfortunately can not simply cancel a standing contract if a customer decides to move outside of our coverage area.
You can look at moving the installation to another address where we have good coverage (as confirmed by our installer on site) OR look at ceding the existing contract to the new tenant at the current installation address.
Do not hesitate to contact our Accounts team to discuss the options in more detail.
Yours faithfully
