WiruLink

Ordered my 10 Mbps service in november last year. Got a installation date and the technician showed up wanting to install my line but found that wirulink has not arranged any lines or installations yet. Waited another 2 weeks then the line got installed. Found that my new 10 Mbps line is shared with the complex and had to wait from 12 December until around 13 January for a support engineer to assist (the change took hom 3 minutes to fix). Then proceeded to request a refund for the month I was billed 10 Mbps but only received 1 Mbps and less speed. To this date I have not received feedback as to when i will receive credit or a refund for my December issue. Fast-forward 6 months and I have to report that WiruLink is the WORST ISP i have ever had to deal with and that says a lot considering Telkom is worse.

I wrote a small forum article in 2015 about all the ISP's i have tried in south africa when i still had a DSL account so i have proof thati have tried them ALL. WiruLink engineers are arrogant, think they know everything and always act like you are stupid or something. I am paying for a 10 Mbps, but hardly ever get to use the link for longer then 4 hours at max speeds. It does work (during 2 AM and 5 AM) but that is kinda pointless then. I have a 750 Gig CAP that i have not reached ONCE in all the time i have been with them. Their stratgey is simple, slow down the line 80% so the user can never reach the cap. I am a PS4 gamer and downloading my online games (sizes vary from 30 Gbps to 80 Gbps for games) take for every since they slow down the line to near unusable speeds blaming it on contention ratios etc. I was not kidding when i said they drop your line speed by up to 80%. When I do speedtest, I get 2.2 to 1.5 Mbps download speeds. When i complain they magically indicate that there is nothing "wrong" .

I publicly advise people not to use Wirulink for anything. They are *******, con artist at best. Do not believe them when they say they have a good and fast network, it looks good in theory but when you really push their network they simply slow you down and their best excuse is to upgrade the package. My point is simple if you cannot manage your "basic" product how I am to trust you with packages that are more expensive. Every person i revered to them had something negative to say. So i say again do not believe the positive reviews you read. That is people that most likely only check their emails and not fully utilize the internet like i do, I am a network engineer and i can report they network or rather how they apply their network is utter cra** .

Dear Riaan,

Thank you for notifying WIRUlink's management of the problems you have been experiencing so we can attend to this.

We have investigated your claims about the speed problems and can see that you are constantly using the full 10Mbps download speed of the package you signed up for and used 480Gb of data so far this month.

To ensure that there is more than sufficient capacity for the current and foreseeable future bandwidth requirements of residents at Ponders End, we have upgraded the main backhaul link to Ponders End on 20 June 2017.

Do not hesitate to log into our End User Portal for daily usage stats and throughput graphs. You can also contact Shannon van Blerk (WIRUlink Client Relations Manager) should you require any other details or wish to test the speed of your service live with him.

Yours faithfully

Kind Regards
Shannon Van Blerk
