Where to begin… So.. I moved and couldn’t transfer my old fiber line to the new place. We had to have a new line added to our account. I could understand that as that is the procedure great no problem the Clawback fee was nearly R3000.00. When I was enquiring about the new line for financial reasons obviously I needed to factor in the old line as I was told I would only be able to cancel it in January. January comes and no I can only cancel in February, try cancel in February nope you must cancel the end of February all this time I have to just keep on paying for the line that is not able to be canceled as the clawback fee is nearly R3000.00 I would have only been a month that I would have had to pay for two lines. The new line I got was on promotion the “consultant” said the promotion is only for 4 months thereafter it’s the normal price R799. I was ok with this as by then the old line would have been canceled (In January) and I would only be paying for the new line and then still have a saving due to the promotion…
My Line was installed on the 29th of January 2022 (the same day we had taken occupation of the property), as per Webafrica my line went active on 13 January 2022…. (This is where I completely lost all sense of humor), My line cancellation took 4 Consultants all of which gave me the wrong info, the person selling me the new line gave me the incorrect information…… which begs the question, is there anyone working for Webafrica that actually knows anything about the products being sold? So the new guy trying to assist me says they will credit me for the days that the line was not used…. I’m sorry but R799 and R499 are two very different amounts if the Line is installed on the 29th month you want to tell me that I paid R499.00 for 2 Days of service Is it just me that is missing something here? To Add insult to injury I was without internet from Friday until Monday as the (Openserve tech plug the new line into the previous owner line and naturally when they had canceled their internet my line went down) – I tried to contact webafrica at 17:30 webafricas’ working hours are for 7 am until 9 pm and 8 am to 6 pm weekends and public holidays. I got a response on Saturday only of which I was not at my phone so the consultant closed the chat…… so that was the end of that.
My argument here is not just about the money but the principle of being able to communicate the correct information to the clients. There is no e-mail address, no telephone number to contact anyone only WHATSAPP, I get it we’re in a pandemic yet come on the majority of people are back in the office and Webafrica nope would rather offer shoddy service, incorrect information because at the end of the day the Client has no other choice but to pay or else your line gets cut????? So we held ransom to a service provider that doesn’t know how to provide a service?
Webafrica – your WhatsApp communication DOESN’T work there is no supervision no one to check that this is being done correctly and no one that can actually adequately assist your clients
