Wedafrica - Over a Week Without Internet — Endless Excuses, No Resolution

It has now been OVER A WEEK of trying to get my internet line sorted, and the situation has become an absolute joke.

Not only has Webafrica failed to resolve the issue, but now AFRIHOST has also taken hundreds of rands from me — and I STILL have no internet. I’m literally paying money and getting absolutely nothing in return.

I have spent HOURS on phone calls, sitting in queues, being transferred between departments, and repeating the same story over and over again. Every single time I’m told the issue has been “escalated” and marked as “urgent,” yet nobody bothers updating me, communicating with me, or actually fixing anything.

What’s even more frustrating is that they seem to respond faster on HelloPeter reviews than they do to actual support tickets and real customer issues. The moment a public review is posted, suddenly there’s a response — but when it comes to actually resolving the problem, there is complete silence.

From day one I was told this matter had been escalated, but more than a week later NOTHING has been sorted out. No internet, no proper communication, no accountability, and no real urgency from anyone involved.

This entire experience has been exhausting, stressful, and honestly unacceptable. Customers should not have to fight this hard just to receive a service they are paying for.

At this point, I genuinely feel like both Webafrica and Afrihost have failed completely when it comes to customer service and support. I would strongly advise anyone considering these providers to think very carefully before signing up, because if something goes wrong, you may end up wasting your time, your money, and your patience with absolutely no resolution in sight.

Hi Mymoena,
Thank you for taking the time to share what you’ve been going through. Being without internet for over a week, spending hours trying to get help, and seeing money deducted while no service is being delivered is incredibly frustrating and exhausting. We fully understand how stressful this has been for you, especially when you’ve repeatedly been told the issue is “urgent” with no clear progress or communication. This is not how we want our clients to experience Webafrica, and we recognise the toll this situation has taken on you.
We’ve requested the team that handles line releases to urgently follow up on your case and to provide you with direct feedback. The prolonged delay and impact you’ve described have been clearly highlighted to ensure this is treated with priority.
Your experience and feedback have been submitted to our Service Quality Team for review, as situations like this highlight serious gaps in follow‑through and communication that need attention.
If you need any further assistance while this is being followed up, please feel free to send us a direct message on Hello Peter, and we’ll gladly continue to assist.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

Hi, thank you for the response, but to be completely honest, this is basically the exact same response I received after my first review and since then, nothing has actually happened. I’m sure you can understand why my frustration has reached this point.I was already told last week that the matter had been escalated urgently and that Afrihost would escalate the circuit release once payment was made. I followed the instructions given to me, made the payment to Afrihost, and still no communication, no updates, and no released line. I was simply left sitting without internet while everyone keeps saying the issue is being handled. At this stage, this problem is not only affecting me now, but it’s going to continue impacting me financially moving forward as well. Because Webafrica has still not released the line, Afrihost has not been able to activate the service I already paid for. This means that by the time the service is eventually connected which is likely going to be much later in the month I would have been charged for an entire month while only receiving service for a few days. That is completely unfair and needs to be addressed as part of this complaint as well. I should not be paying for lost time caused by delays between Webafrica and Afrihost. This situation is costing me money for something that is entirely outside of my control. Please can you provide me with an actual reference number, timeline or direct feedback from the relevant department instead of another generic escalation response, because at this point I’ve heard the same promises for over a week with absolutely no outcome.

Not a single one of my calls has actually resulted in a resolution. Every time I contact support, I’m told the matter is being handled “urgently,” yet nobody from the relevant department has reached out to me directly with any meaningful update. Not even a simple email saying “we are still investigating” has been sent. Instead, the only place I seem to get any response at all is here on HelloPeter from the “Webafrica Crew” repeating the same message in different ways while nothing changes on the actual account. At this point, words like “escalated,” “priority,” and “urgent” have completely lost meaning because there has been no visible action, no proper communication, and no resolution despite this dragging on for more than a week.

Hi Mymoena,
We completely understand why this ongoing situation has been so frustrating, especially after repeated assurances without any tangible progress or direct communication. Being left without clear updates after following every instruction given understandably makes it feel like nothing is actually moving.
Please be reassured that your case is actively being looked into and is being tracked. The escalation remains in place, and they are currently awaiting further feedback required to complete the process. As soon as there is any update or movement on the line release, you will be updated immediately, so you are not left in the dark.
Warm regards,

It is now WELL OVER 2 weeks since my internet line stopped working, and despite multiple promises from both Webafrica and Afrihost, I still have absolutely no internet connection. What makes this even worse is that both companies were quick to respond publicly on HelloPeter, repeatedly claiming that someone would contact me “immediately” and that the matter was “urgent.” Yet THREE DAYS after those responses, nobody has contacted me, nobody has provided any meaningful update, and my WiFi is STILL offline. At this point, it honestly feels like these companies care more about protecting their public image and responding to bad reviews than actually helping paying customers. The responses on HelloPeter appear to be nothing more than damage control, because behind the scenes absolutely nothing is being resolved.Meanwhile, I have already been charged my monthly fees despite receiving NO service whatsoever. I am literally paying hundreds of rands for an internet connection that does not work.Over the past week I have wasted hours on calls, sat in endless queues, been transferred between departments, and had to explain the same issue repeatedly. Every time I’m told the case has been “escalated” and marked as “urgent,” but there is never any follow-up, accountability, or actual resolution. This entire experience has been exhausting, frustrating, and completely unacceptable. Customers should not have to fight this hard just to receive the service they are paying for.Right now, I cannot recommend either Webafrica or Afrihost to anyone. If something goes wrong, be prepared for poor communication, endless delays, empty promises, and absolutely no sense of urgency even while they continue taking your money every month.

Hi Mymoena, We understand how exhausting and frustrating this situation has been, especially with the extended downtime, repeated follow-ups, and not receiving the level of communication or urgency you were promised. Being without a working connection for this long while still being billed is understandably unacceptable from your side. At this stage, your case remains open and actively in progress, and it has not been closed or dropped. The escalation is still in place, and both internal and upstream teams are currently working through the required steps needed to resolve the line release and restore service. We are also still awaiting final feedback from the relevant network side to complete the process. Please be assured that this is being tracked continuously, and once there is any movement or confirmation on the line status, you will be contacted immediately with a clear update. The intention now is to get this resolved as quickly as possible and ensure there is no further delay once the network feedback is received. Warm regards,
 Webafrica Crew

Another day, another empty promise.I have now been told that Afrihost escalated the matter to Webafrica to have the line released early, and that the request was supposedly marked as “high priority.” Yet despite all these so-called escalations and urgent flags, absolutely NOTHING has happened. No progress. No updates. No internet. No proper communication. At this point, I am beyond frustrated. I have spent over a week chasing support teams, sitting on calls, explaining the same issue repeatedly, and still nobody seems capable of actually resolving the problem. What makes this even worse is that both companies respond quickly when a public review is posted, promising immediate assistance — but once the review is answered, the communication disappears again and nothing gets done. Can someone PLEASE contact me urgently, because I no longer want to continue with this process. I want my order cancelled and I want a full refund for the money that has already been taken from me while providing absolutely no service.I will be taking my business elsewhere. This entire experience has been a complete joke and one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever dealt with.

Hi Mymoena,  We understand how frustrating and exhausting this situation has been, especially with repeated escalations, lack of visible progress, and feeling like communication has not been consistent or effective. That level of uncer*****y while still without service is not the experience intended. A follow-up has now been submitted on your case as a priority to ensure the request for cancellation is reviewed and actioned without further delay. The relevant team will take this up urgently and provide the next update as soon as there is movement on the line release process. Warm regards,

With all due respect, this is exactly the same response I have been receiving for over 2 weeks now “escalated,” “high priority,” “actively in progress,” and “awaiting feedback.” Yet despite all these reassurances, absolutely nothing has changed. You mention that I will be contacted immediately with updates, but the reality is that nobody has contacted me. I have had to continuously chase for information myself while being left without internet access the entire time.At this point, the issue is no longer just the downtime it’s the complete lack of action, communication, and accountability. Every public response sounds reassuring, but behind the scenes there is still no resolution, no timeline, and no actual support being provided.I have now gone well over a week without service while still being billed, and I honestly cannot understand how this level of delay is considered acceptable. Please stop sending generic escalation responses and have someone actually contact me directly with a real update and a proper resolution. Otherwise, I would like my order cancelled and my money refunded so I can move to a provider that is able to deliver the service customers are paying for.

Hi Mymoena, We understand your frustration, especially given the length of time this has been ongoing and the lack of visible progress despite multiple escalations. It’s clear that repeated “escalated” updates without resolution or direct communication have not met your expectations, and that’s a fair concern. This is not being treated as a generic escalation. The matter remains actively open with the relevant upstream teams, and a further urgent request has now been placed for direct engagement on your case so that you receive a clear and specific update rather than standard status feedback. The focus now is on getting you a concrete outcome rather than repeating progress updates, and we are pushing for clarity on timelines and next steps as a priority. Once there is actionable feedback available, you will be contacted directly. Warm regards,

I honestly think it is extremely unprofessional that a paying customer has to run around like this for over 2 weeks just to receive repeated apology messages with no actual progress or meaningful feedback.Since last week, the only thing that has consistently happened is more apologies and more promises that the matter is being treated as “urgent.” Yet despite all these reassurances, absolutely nothing has been resolved, nobody has properly contacted me, and there is still no clear answer or timeline. At this stage, it genuinely feels like I am being forced to chase basic customer service while both companies continue passing the issue around internally without taking accountability or providing a real solution.A customer should not have to keep posting public complaints just to receive another generic response saying the issue is being followed up. What customers actually need is action, communication, and resolution — not the same apology rewritten in different ways every few days.I have been patient for long enough. Please stop sending generic responses and provide actual feedback, a confirmed cancellation update, and clarity regarding my refund, because this entire experience has been beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable.

Hi Mymoena, We understand how frustrating this has been, especially after such a long period without resolution, repeated escalations, and feeling like you are not receiving clear, direct feedback or progress. That level of delay and lack of cer*****y is not the experience intended for any customer. This is not being handled as another generic update. The matter remains actively open, and a request has been placed for a clear outcome to be provided. The focus is now on closing the loop properly rather than continuing with status updates that do not reflect tangible progress. Once there is verified feedback from the relevant teams, you will receive a direct update with the outcome. Warm regards,

No one has been in contact with me whatsoever. As I have already mentioned multiple times, this platform is the only place where I actually receive any responses. I have not received a call, email or direct update from any relevant team handling this matter. At this stage, I am not looking for another generic assurance that the matter is being worked on. What I need is actual communication and a clear, direct update from the team responsible, because so far that has not happened at all. Please ensure someone contacts me directly and provides a real status update and timeline, rather than another standard response here.

Hi Mymoena, We understand how frustrating this has been, especially since you haven’t had direct contact from the team handling your case and have mainly had to rely on updates here. That lack of communication is not the experience intended and it’s understandable that this has added to your frustration. This has been escalated so it can be reviewed and picked up by the relevant team, with the focus on addressing the breakdown in communication and ensuring the case is properly followed through from their side. Warm regards,
