I want to cancel my service at Webafrica. I do not need the service. I log in and state my business, and get referred to Livechat. When a Livechat agent has tried to make me change my mind about cancelling (Are you moving house? Is there someone who would love to take over the service?), I get referred to another agent via a horrible AIndividual called Willie-the-bot. And Willie-the-bot has all the time in the world. He even tells me that I "can cancel the Livechat request by simply typing ENDCHAT". So having granted me this great freedom of choice, he keeps me waiting for more than an hour. Oh yes, I suppose I have the freedom to go make a cup of tea while I wait, or carry on with other things, but there is always the sneaking chance that an agent suddenly pops up while I am not looking, and asks me a question and, if I do not reply speedily enough, the agent gets sidetracked by another caller, and perhaps I get handed over to Willie-the-bot again. So, in the end, I get to do nothing else except checking my screen every few minutes. Tell me: Is there a decent time, prescribed by law, of which a client can say, "I gave due notice of cancellation at such and such a time, and since then the x hours or x days prescribed by law have gone by without a fitting response from the company, and I can therefore assume that I am no longer bound to them, and may no longer be billed by them"?
