WebAfrica wanting to take money *****ulently via Debit Order!
UNBELIEVABLE!
At various stages during the latter part of 2023, WebAfrica phoned me three times looking for a missing router. I explained that I did not get an additional one and did not have an unused one.
I just received an email from Nobuntu Mthembu, a WebAfrica representative, stating that I app**** for a WebAfrica fibre connection but never activated it. They therefore sent a router to me by mistake. They will, therefore, take the R999 with the debit order at the end of December if I do not return the router (I do not have).
The fact is; I had a WebAfrica connection last year which was cancelled because we were moving and were not sure where we would be staying. I returned the router at the time and have proof of doing so! After four months I app**** for a new fibre connection with WebAfrica and got it installed in March of 2023. I received a router with this connection. So where does the router issue come from? Who is at fault or to blame? Surely the burden of proof is on WebAfrica to provide satisfactory proof that I have an additional router, received from them.
This is why we should never allow anyone to take debit orders or automatic payments from our accounts because they can do absolutely what they want with OUR money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Besides this, I have no problem with WebAfrica - their fibre services/connections are usually great.
