WebAfrica STOLE my money. AVOID

Great LTE product. Sketchy business ethics. Avoid.

The LTE Router uses easily damaged SIM cards (That you pay R209 for upfront). So when they get wiped via power outages (ala eskom) you're SOOL.

This is exactly what you can expect if your SIM somehow ends up damaged and you need a replacement: > You log the problem, you and the service rep determine the SIM needs to be replaced. > You wait about 1 week before you hear any feedback. > During this week you effectively have no internet. If you're like me and work at home, you end up being forced to buy expensive DATA packages (20GB @ MTN in this case, which costs R800 for LTE) > When your new SIM eventually shows up, you get charged AGAIN. >> This means, you have to pay AGAIN for the replacement SIM (R209) >> They also charge you Pro-rata for the month, even though you ALREADY paid for said month. In my case I use the 200GB package, which costs R850. >> So in addition to the R850 that I already paid for the month, I get charged R400 Pro-rata to get 80GB for the rest of the month. This ALSO means that you LOSE YOUR PREVIOUS SIMs LEFTOVER DATA.

So in total, it cost me R2260 for LTE internet, of which I did NOT have access to it for 1 week, only to end up LOSING DATA THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR.

I will NOT recommend WebAfrica to anyone. I can't believe I actually believed the shills at mybroadband.co.za that said WebAfrica was a premium service. These guys are practically ********* with how they ******* their customers.

I will be contacting Carte Blanche, mybroadband and as many news outlets as I can. This kind of shady business practice is the kind of thing that should never be allowed.

Wanna know something else? They will probably just ignore this problem like many others, post some boiler plate 'apology' and forget about it, like this:

Received contact from Webafrica after copy/pasting this review to their provided email. I've been told via phone that the charge on the extra SIM as well as the Pro-rata data should be reversed (still waiting), and that my previous SIMs data should be returned. The money I spent with MTN was not reimbursed for obvious reasons, so I would suggest getting a second LTE SIM with a basic package (like 10-15GB) to use as a spare in case something happens to your SIM. Will be updating this review once the reversal has been authorized. I appreciate Webafrica's quick and efficient response in this matter. I would also like to apologize for being so rude in my review. I've been in a bit of a mood because of delays in my work, and unnecessarily took it out Webafrica.

UPDATE It's the new month and I've given webafrica more than enough time to reverse the charges made (probably ilegally, I never gave my consent, verbally or otherwise) I remain by what I said, webafrica is pretty shady when it comes to billing. Avoid these sketchy people, they are probably aware of business ethics, but choose to ignore them. In short, I don't recommend these *******.
