Webafrica sells lies

They sell their service as a month to month and you can cancel anytime. I was moving houses and the area I moved to webafrica does not have wifi coverage and I had to change to lte that I could not afford their router after being with them for over 3 years paying on time for my service coverage. I told then to cancel and was told it is canceled to be billed monthly which I continued to reverse the debit order. When I ask them on the WhatsApp communication I'm told it's canceled now I'm being told I will be handed over for the outstanding amount. Why do they lie and say u can cancel anytime as it's month to month.
