WEBAFRICA - ROUTER RETURNED AND STILL BEING BILLED FOR IT
Last year my late partner moved our home fibre over to WebAfrica. Unfortunately in November he passed away and I had to sort out billing etc. I was advised to transfer this to my name in order not to have any issues going forward. I did this. In January we had to move out of our home so I contacted WebAfrica to have our services cancelled. I was told I have to pay a cancellation fee of R999 due to not having the contract for more than a year, Regardless of the reason for cancellation. Also 1 month notice was to be given. I did this and WebAfrica sent their courier to collect their router on the 3rd of February. I did not hear anything for a week or 2 and then suddenly emails came through of having to return the router and if I had done so to ignore the e-mail. Eventually I received an email clearly stating to return the router. I communicated with WebAfrica on whats app and after waiting for a while the agent managed to track down the router sending me a screenshot that it was received 13th March 2025. More than a month later. I accepted this as confirmed and no further emails would be received regarding this. On 24th March I receive an invoice for this same router of R999 which I need to pay. Again I contact WebAfrica on what app and the agent confirms this router is not on their system as received, but I have the screenshot from 20th Conversation showing it was received on the 13th. The agent then advised that they have requested a credit. I then requested a confirmation email from accounts that all is in order and I would not receive any more e-mails for this router billing again. The agent responds that this can not be done and I have to wait for confirmation of credit note. This does not resolve anything. Clearly WebAfrica has different systems in place and these don't correspond to the different departments. Billing clients for devices that have clearly been received. I want this resolved within 24 hours with confirmation on email. This is highly unprofessional
