WebAfrica No Communications and Pathetic Customer Service

I signed up on the 30th March 2023, and it went really quick. I made a payment and almost immediately received an email to welcome me to the Webafrica family.

They promised that I will have internet within 14 days or my account will be credited with R 999. To sweeten the pot, I signed up with a first month fee of only R 19 - This sounded like a bargain.

I was then phoned and told that I need to move up to the 35Mbps download and 25Mbps upload speed package as the 25 up and 25 down is only for first time installations - I was happy to move up at a increase in the fee. I specifically asked if it won't go up to the 50Mbps/50Mbps package because Octotel is upgrading the 35Mpbs/25Mbps packages and was assured it won't happen. - Still not really an issue...

The issue started with the lack of communication - Every other day I get an email to send a photo or answer a question... this was really annoying me and I reached out via email to make my frustration known. I received a call from a lady and an appointment was set for 2 technicians to come to my house and resolve all issues.

After they left, I still had no internet and went back to the live chat to see if they can assist - they couldn't as the onboarding team had already left. My live chat was ended pretty abruptly without any explanation or sorry for the inconvenience...

I reached out the next Monday and was told to send photos again, when I told them that this is poor service as none of this was explained from the start of the process and that I am not at home to take photos and send it on, Clint apologized and said that there will be someone online to assist me. When I arrived home, I took the photos and tried to reach out via the Live Chat and Whatsapp and CRICKETS...Nothing or no-one to assist!

It is 25 days later and I still have no Internet - So I am expecting a R 980 credit in my account - R 999 minus the R 19 for the first month.

If this is the way that WebAfrica does business, I see us parting ways very soon!
