Webafrica - hopeless service with longstanding customer
I have been a customer of Webafrica for many years. Was very happy with their service early on, but as with most companies as soon as they get large the customer service declines quickly. I app**** for an upgrade on my fiber package and was told this should be completed in a day or two max. I followed up after 48 hours via WhatsApp (this seems to be the only way to "talk" to someone) as my speed had not increased even though this showed on my subscription and was what I was being billed. Was eventually told there was a problem with my line and this had been logged with Openserve. This is where we get into a loop - every 48 hours I would go through the same process - sometimes getting different answers from the WhatsApp helpdesk, but eventually got the same story and was promised that I would be informed if anything changed. I have never had any feedback forthcoming from Webafrica. After speaking to consultants for about the 4th/5th time I asked for a call from a manager. He did call and explained that it was an Openserve issue and that I would be refunded for the time that I was not getting the speed I was paying for and again promised I would receive feedback. No feedback/calls were received after this. I then resorted to checking my speed every day or two. After over a month I started getting close to what I was paying for. I then contacted the Webafrica WhatsApp line again. I was told the issue had been resolved after a lengthy chat and was then asked why I should get a refund by the not so "customer services oriented" consultant. He told me he could not make a refund so I asked that I get called back by a manager. This was promised to happen within 24 hours and as expected I'm still waiting long after this deadline has come and gone. I am now resorted to writing this review in the remote hope that Webafrica read it and have the decency to call me. Webafrica - you are taking my money to manage my fiber line. You should at least take some responsibility when things go wrong and endeavor to keep your customers informed of what is going on.
