Webafrica greedy router clawback policy

After I cancelled my LTE, WebAfrica sent me a mail telling me that they will be charging me for the Huawei B315 router unless I send it back in the original condition and packaging. Fair enough, I planned to keep it anyway.

But now I see they want to charge me R1999 for this router! On the date of this review I can buy a brand new Huawei B315 for R1499. So for them to charge me R1999 for a 2 year old router seems a bit greedy. I can understand that its cost from 2 years ago might have been R1999, but they have to factor in things like depreciation when determining the clawback price.

Other ISPs let you keep the router for free after you've been with them for more than a year.
