WEBAFRICA *********** existing clients

WEBAFRICA *********** clients - I have been a client of WebAfrica for the past 5 yrs. I currently am on a 50/50mpbs fibre line paying R1179.00 per month for at least past two years. 6 months ago I was told by another WebAfrica client that they have a similar line speed but only paying about R650 per month. I never thought much of it until I saw the WEBAFRICA advert advertising a 1000/250 mbps for R1099.

I then tried reaching the WEBAFRICA offices on *** and only two options available - 1 for Sales and 2 for a voice message that keeps advising you to chat to to consultants on Whatsapp before cutting the call - That is what they call Customer Service

I finally gave up and went online and managed to chat to Thokozile M who so kindly called me to my mobile. She then tried to explain that the advertised pricing are new (I dont know if 6 months can be labeled new) and that it comes with conditions. One of the conditions is that it comes with a cancellation fee of R1000.00 while my monthly contract does not have any cancellation fee attached other than 1 months notice.

I then posed the question of whether or not R1000.00 cancellation fee vs R6000.00 annual over billing makes any sense to her. She admitted it does not.

Now I am asking Mr Sean Nourse the CEO of WEBAFRICA to kindly respond to me to advise me why WEBAFRICA are *********** existing clients in this way. Why have they not communicated any change in plans or pricing to their existing clientele.

Reviewer Update
Its been 3 days and no response from WEBAFRICA. Typical from a South African service provider, ignoring their clients complaints thinking that it will blow away. A sad situation in our South African society.

I will have to now post this on twitter, Facebook and Linkedin to see if I can get a response, failing I will take it to the Ombudsman
