Webafrica don't read cancellation notifications

I cancelled my contract on 31st Dec 2019 by email. Got an autoresonse. I followed it up twice during Jan 2020 and was eventually notified that the contract was cancelled. On 18 Jan 2020 I get a phone call claiming I hadn't cancelled the subscription and owe Webafrica money. Don't they read their emails? Really poor service.
