WebAfrica - be sure to give us notice or WE will hand you over for Services not rendered by us.

After years of supporting Webafrica with no issues form my side. I finally cancelled my account with them as I found a better Suited ISP deal with my Fibre line upgrade (from ADSL to fibre). So I wanted to cancel my account, but could not do that on the customer portal. So I consult the FAQ's, and someone stated to change my account details so that the debit order (as all services where paid upfront) does not continue, and my account will be stopped. So I did this and it worked. So on the 3rd of February'26 I get a notice stating that my account is suspended (as expected) and I think this is good, finally one less bill to worry about. Two months later, I get notifications that I will be handed over to the credit people for not paying the month of Feb (which was cut off on the 3rd of Feb). So I contact the Webafrica team through their Whatsapp channel, which took way to long to sit and wait for generic answers, borderline AI responses, probably cut and paste from a selection of responses? Just to be told that there's nothing to be done but pay the bill. So I've paid it, in fear of being handed over, and the fact that it costs me more per hour to deal with the generic responses that Webafrica has to offer as "client service". I've been with Webafrica for many many years since they had the "Titan" accounts, which is where I started with them. and they want to hand me over for their meager R269 a month paid UPFRONT for service. But "terms and conditions" state that I need to pay their bill for service not rendered, because I didn't give them notice. Another once "small company" that grew too big to worry about their now "small customers", hopefully one day the company "vision" remembers where it came from and who the supporters where when they where up and coming.

Hello Tommy,

We understand your frustration regarding the cancellation process, the confusion around account suspension, and the follow-up billing concerns after services were no longer actively in use. We also recognise your long-standing relationship with Webafrica and the disappointment this situation has caused.

This has been escalated to the team that handles ADSL cancellations for immediate review of your account status and billing history to ensure the cancellation is correctly finalised and that the matter is properly resolved. The team will also verify the sequence of events to ensure clarity and alignment with the correct cancellation process.

Once this review has been completed, the necessary corrective action will be taken to finalise the account accordingly.

Kind regards,
Webafrica Crew

Thank you for Confirming the cancellation of my account. As for charging me for the month that you suspended my account, after informing me it was suspended, I have still paid for services not rendered, is there going to be any compensation for it? This can all be avoided in the Future, by simply adding a section in your portal that will allow someone to cancel/suspend their account. Not having to deal with people that are on a Whatsapp hotline. Nobody has time for that.

There where no next steps while dealing with the on-line communication people just the book of T&C's Apply got thrown at me. So Customers, don't waste your time and money with Webafrica, if you find a better price elswhere take it. Years and years of loyal and non-interrupted payments (upfront), and they will cork ***** you for R269.00.
If you want loyalty go buy a dog, Webafrica doesn't have it.

Hello Tommy,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for outlining your experience. We acknowledge your frustration with how the cancellation and billing process was experienced, particularly after many years of uninterrupted payments.
Your comments regarding the billing charge, the suspension period, and the cancellation experience have been noted and will be shared with our Service Quality Team for review, specifically around how these interactions are handled and communicated to customers. Feedback around the lack of a self-service cancellation option on the portal has also been recorded for internal consideration.
While the account has already been addressed in line with the applicable terms, your concerns have been documented and will contribute to ongoing service and process improvements.

Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew
