Web Africa - Lies and deception
I will keep this simple by listing how, in the past 3 months, Webafrica has completely lost the trust of a long-standing customer. 1. They **** to me on several occasions. 3 times they **** by claiming that they will look into my issue and will return my call. They never did and every time I had to explain the same problem, to my frustration, over and over again to new operators. 2. They incorrectly charged large amounts to my account on 2 separate occasions. One of roughly R1000 and another of roughly R500. 3. According to their technical support staff, the Fibre department operates until 17:00 in the afternoon. I spent 3 days in a row trying to contact this department at around 16:00 (an hour before closing) only to wait on the phone for upwards of 30 minutes with no answer. Do you let your staff off early or do they simply ignore phone calls after a certain hour 4. Since I couldn't, at that time, make contact with the Fibre or tech support team, I decided to contact sales. Being frustrated I explained the situation only to have the sales person promise me he would transfer my call directly to someone who would assist me. He didn't. He simply transferred me back to the Fibre switchboard that no-one was answering. Another 25 minutes later I hung up. 5. On a Thursday afternoon in January they promised to deliver my router at my place of work the following day. Come Friday lunch time I followed up and to no-ones surprise they didn't send it out with their driver. This was followed by apologies and promises of getting it early Monday morning. Monday morning came and went and I followed up again. "Sorry sir, the system shows that delivery is scheduled for Tuesday.". More apologies and a promise for the following day. So I phone on Tuesday: "Sir, our driver is currently in the Southern Suburbs and won't make it to you today.". More lies. The following day it also didn't arrive. They finally pitched late on Thursday afternoon, almost a week after the promised delivery date. 6. They misinform their clients regarding the Fibre process. Originally my Fibre would have been active by Dec 15, 2017. It is now Feb 23, 2018 and still no fibre. Within this period I have been given several different dates by various tech support members. Each person had their own story and rarely did any of the stories match up in terms of factual information. 7. When I first contacted Webafrica regarding their Fibre services, they suggested I use Octotel as the preferred Fibre supplier in my area as WebAfrica supposedly has a better relationship with them than Vumatel (who also services my area). I went by their recommendation. Now, months later and still no Fibre, they tell me that I should never have gone with Octotel as they aren't really the main supplier in my area. I really don't get this. You people need to check your facts before making "recommendations". 8. I wrote an email of complaint to WebAfrica which they completely decided to ignore. No feedback in over a week. Tell me WebAfrica, do your clients mean so little to you?
Given the above, I'd say my current level of frustration is warranted. You certainly leave the door wide open for us to rather go with the offerings of your competition.
