Web Africa FALSE ADVERTISING plausibly *****ulent behaviour at play
To be honest. I don't know where to start. I have been a "Client" of Web Africa since 22-03-2022 and not one day of trouble, if there was a technical problem, it was resolved in a flash no hassles. Help was a click away BUT NOT ANYMORE!
You see for the past 3 years I paid for their service on a prepaid service-based agreement on the 28th of every month witch to my understanding is pre-paying for the coming month's line rental. in other words, nonpayment if your invoice will result in your service being suspended that means " No Pay - No Play" and because they don't do contracts as per their Web Site adverti*****ts this means if in the following month you can pay for the next coming months line rental you pay again, and your service is re-instated.
So here is where my FRUSTRATION comes in, February 2025 I couldn't pay them in time as per the agreement which resulted in suspension of service for March, all fine and acceptable. but 01-03-2025 a payment of R799 was made and on 06-03-2025 a late payment fee of R50 was also debited from my bank account yet no services were re-instated for the month of March 2025. services were only re-instated on 28-03-2025 after another payment of R849 was made only to find that they have suspended my service yet again and their reason for this is, DRUM ROLL PLEASE, nonpayment for April Services...
So now here is the, "Catch-22". They state on their Web Site, and I quote from their website, "If you want blistering fast Internet speeds and the latest in cutting edge Internet technology then Fibre is for you. No Landline, "No Lengthy Contracts" Just Faster Fast Fibre etc." Well, this is as I see it now as False advertising UNDERLINING "NO LENGTHY CONTRACTS"
The moment you request to downgrade to a cheaper Package they demand some nonsense fee of R999
The moment you request to cancel services in accordance with their 30-Days (Callender days) notice period then they demand a R999 "clawback-fee"
If your Service is suspended due to nonpayment, they inform you that your service will be cancelled in a certain number of days, and you will be held liable for but not limited to a R999 cancellation fee, collection fee etc.
I Made a double payment in one month to cover the supposed "arears" and paid upfront for the coming month, yet my services keep on being suspended
After numerous phone calls to the only number (021)464 500 available and let alone one can only speak to a new sales agent and after numerous promises from the poor salesperson on the other side of the phoneline, to get someone from their accounts department to contact me is to avail. true aftermarket customer service does not exist here.
For I am one person that realized that an additional "R799" let's say rounded R800 which they endeavoured to debit from my bank account without my consent and they do it to 1000 of their other clients that means a total of R800 000 is in my eyes ****** from their client network of service subscribers.
In all fairness I gave them 24Hrs as from 11h24 on 14/4/2025 to come up with a solution to this problem. last person to react on their "Chat Line" is Amanda D
I'm at an end with no words...
