Web Africa: 10 Days Without Internet, Double Billing, Endless Transfers & Still No Resolution

I am posting this review after more than 10 days without internet, repeated incorrect billing, and a completely unacceptable support experience. What should have been a simple relocation activation has turned into a financial and emotional nightmare. 1. No Internet Since the End of February My service was confirmed to be activated on the agreed date, but the connection went offline days before and has never been restored. Despite this, I was billed, even though the service has not been usable at all. This is a direct breach of the agreement. 2. Billing Errors & Unexplained Charges I was: • Debited for the regular service • Debited again for a setup/moving fee • Then told I must pay another setup fee before reconnecting Even though the charges were already taken, the system still shows an unpaid amount and blocks access to the internet. No one can explain why this is happening and for some reason are unable to reverse the activation dates that I did not even requested. 3. Internal Administrative Chaos Throughout this ordeal, Web Africa’s system has shown: • Incorrect dates • Duplicate orders • Conflicting account statuses • A “suspended” service even after successful payments • Activation addresses that don’t match the information I provided • Repeated mistakes by technicians and provisioning Every agent gives a different story. No one takes ownership. 4. Support Experience: Unhelpful, Slow, and Repetitive Over many days, I experienced: • Being stuck in bot loops • Repeating verification multiple times • Being transferred between departments again and again • Agents who disappear mid-chat • Promised callbacks that never happen • Long delays between responses • No follow through on any ticket logged (which then for some reason disappeared) I have been asked the same questions over and over, and every time I explain the full situation, I get transferred to someone else who starts from zero again. 5. Technician Visit — Still No Connection A technician eventually arrived and confirmed that: • The previous installation was done incorrectly • The line had been physically damaged • The issue on the physical line was fixed However, because of Web Africa’s internal system errors and incorrect billing flags, the connection still cannot be activated. 6. Financial & Emotional Impact This situation has caused: • Loss of productivity • Extra costs for mobile data and airtime – Financial stress. • Stress and disruption in my household • Hours wasted on chats and calls • Job stress – as we work remotely I even had to take additional steps to protect myself from incorrect ongoing debits. No customer should be put through this. What I Expect • Immediate activation of the service • Removal of duplicate/incorrect charges • A refund or credit for the full offline period • A full investigation into the administrative and billing errors • Reimbur*****t of additional costs caused by the service failure Final Comment This experience shows a serious breakdown in Web Africa’s systems, communication, and customer service. What should have been a simple relocation has turned into a week-long, expensive, stressful ordeal — with still no resolution in sight.

Hello Chrishaine. Thank you for sharing such a detailed account of your experience. It’s completely understandable how stressful and frustrating this situation has been.  Dealing with prolonged downtime, repeated billing errors, and the challenges with support is far from the experience any client should have.
Upon reviewing your account, the underlying fault has been resolved. The matter has also been raised with our Finance Team, who are actively checking your profile and billing to ensure everything is in order and that your connection can be fully restored.
Your feedback highlights several areas where our processes fell short, and it will be submitted to our Customer Journey Team to help improve the experience for you and all clients. Your time and patience in sharing this are greatly appreciated, and your concerns have been heard and valued. T^

Thank you for responding, but unfortunately your reply does not address the main issues I raised, nor does it reflect the reality of what has been happening over the past 10 days.
Your response states that the “underlying fault has been resolved.”
However, I need to highlight the following:
1. Your agents repeatedly told me the line was already ACTIVE
Throughout multiple WhatsApp conversations, your agents confirmed that the line was active, and even took me through router resets, reconfiguration steps, and connection checks.
If the line was not actually active, why was I told repeatedly that it was?
2. Now your team claims activation is only scheduled for the 12th
This completely contradicts days of support interactions where I was told the line should already be working.
I never agreed to or requested a 12th March activation date — and I mentioned this to every agent I spoke to.
3. The billing problem is still not resolved
Your system continued to demand a payment I had already been debited for, and your reply does not confirm:
  • whether the duplicate charges have been corrected
  • whether the blocked payment error has been removed
  • whether my service will now activate correctly
4. There is no compensation or accountability for 10 days of downtime
Your reply does not address:
  • Compensation for the extended outage
  • Reimbur*****t for data/airtime used
  • The financial and work impact
  • The stress caused by repeated transfers and incorrect information
5. No clear timeline or final resolution was provided
Saying the matter is “with Finance” or “with Customer Journey” is not a resolution.
I still have:
  • No confirmation that billing is fixed
  • No confirmation that activation will actually happen
  • No explanation for the contradictory information
  • No assurance that this won’t happen again
Therefore, my complaint remains fully open.
I appreciate the tone of your message, but I need a concrete resolution — not another acknowledgement.
I am still waiting for:
  • Correct billing
  • Proper activation
  • Compensation for downtime
  • Reimbur*****t of extra costs
  • A clear and final resolution

You have no idea the financial stress that your company has put on me, all the data and airtime i had to purchase and then the time i had to sit on the phone for days from morning till evening with no results. and this while i still had to try and get my daily work done - i work remotely. you have caused a lot of damage for me due to your poor admin / support division.

Hi Chrishaine, thank you for sharing such a detailed account of your experience and for explaining the impact this situation has had on you. It’s completely understandable how exhausting and stressful it must have been to spend so many hours trying to get your connection working, purchasing additional data and airtime, and juggling your remote work, all while navigating conflicting information from multiple agents. We truly empathise with the frustration this has caused and recognise how challenging it can feel when things don’t move as expected.
After a thorough review, our team has confirmed that everything regarding your account is now in order. The service is active, and your connection should be working. Your billing was reviewed, and a credit note has been sent to confirm the status of your billing. We recommend restarting your router and testing the connection to ensure everything is working correctly.
Your feedback regarding the support and communication experience has been noted, and it will be used to help improve processes and service for all clients. Thank you for your patience and for taking the time to share your experience, it has been heard and valued. T^
