Warn all your friends and family!
We got our LTE package from Webafrica. We run an online business and it is crucial for us to have a good internet connection. For the first month our internet was working fine, but then speeds just went down and down. I have already called and called and called over and over again to get this resolved. Every time I get told that there is nothing they can do it has been escalated to Cell C who is the provider. In the meanwhile we are paying for a service that we are not receiving. The ads I see of "effing fast" is effing ****ing me off more and more. We are supposed to get up to 50Mbps but constant speed tests never puts us over 2Mbps. Also our downloads fail and pages sometimes do not load. If I had a client that told me that their internet is crucial to the running of their business and called me day in and day out, I think I would give them updates as to what is happening and I would get on the phone and call Cell C day in and day out and demand that they sort out the issue. Since Webafrica is not resolving this issue, I will now go myself and contact Cell C to get this handled.
I have been contacted by Webafrica and they asked us to send them speed test data etc. We sent that to them and we have not heard anything back from them. Effing pathetic company! They are very happy to take our money but not interested in deliveing the LTE service we are paying for. In addition, we literally lost a big sale to a client in the USA last week because we could not do a Skype call due to internet connection being so slow that we could not do the call. If you are reading this and you are looking for an ISP, I would urge you to stay away.
I have next gone to the Services and Goods Ombudsman as Webafrica has still not resolved the issue. I will keep on updating my review. I want everyone to know what to expect from Webafrica and how they treat their clients. They ignore our emails and every time we call we get the same answer, no matter how we jump up and down. They just have the answer, that it has been escalated.
OK, so it is now 4 months later. We have contacted ISPA to try and resolve the matter. Despite the complaint Webafrica is still highly irresponsible, even telling ISPA that they have tried to contact us to resolve the matter, but we have not one single voicemail, email or text from them. In actual fact they ignored our emails.
The story when you call customer support is still the same..." The matter has been escalated" I even asked twice to speak to a manager. They are never available and when I leave my number and ask that a manager call me back I get nothing back. There is a really apt Afrikaans word that comes to mind when thinking of this company " Slapgat" If you are thinking of using them as your ISP I can tell you to please stay away. They falsely advertise blistering speeds and have zero interest in making sure you get what you pay for.
This is not the first review I leave on hellopeter about this matter. Like I have pointed out in the past, they have a generic response that will follow this message, where they ask to please let them know our account details so they can get the matter resolved. No matter what you do after that point and what data you provide nothing happens. It is just to try to keep up appearances.
This company has not just made me a dissatisfied customer but they have made and enemy out of me. No other company has ever managed to do this. If you are reading this not only stay away, but tell all your friends and family. A disgraceful company like this should not be permitted to operate further in our country.
Sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience. We will do our best to sort it out.
So that we can contact you, please email *** or *** with your Customer Code/Order Number and we will jump onto it.
Once you have sent the email you will receive a 'ticket number’. Please hold onto that ticket number as a reference to your enquiry.
Kind regards,
