Very Poor Customer Service From Webafrica – 17 August 2026
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Webafrica today, 17 August 2026.
I contacted Webafrica regarding a R760 payment/refund that needs to be returned to my account. I provided screenshots, payment information, proof of payment and supporting documentation through the WhatsApp chat.
The agent initially struggled to understand what I was asking, despite me providing the relevant information and explaining the situation. I had to repeatedly explain that I wanted to know when I could expect the R760 to be refunded.
After providing further proof, I was eventually told that the payment allocation had been requested and that refunds normally take 3–5 days after approval. I was then told that approval could take another 24–48 hours.
I then asked a very reasonable question: Would I be notified when the refund is approved?
I specifically asked to be kept informed because I do not want to have to keep contacting Webafrica repeatedly to find out what is happening with my money.
The response I received from the agent was:
“You will definitely not be kept on the loop. Please wait for 2 days to pass then contact us again regarding this.”
I find this response completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional.
As a customer, I should not have to chase a company for updates regarding money that is owed back to me. If there is a delay in processing the refund, I expect clear communication and proper customer service.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I was cooperative throughout the conversation and provided everything that was requested of me.
Webafrica, I am asking for:
- A clear confirmation that my R760 refund has been properly processed. - Confirmation of the refund reference/allocation. - A clear expected date for the money to reflect in my account. - Proper communication regarding the progress of the refund instead of me having to contact you again and again.
I have been a Webafrica customer, but the level of customer service I received today is extremely disappointing.
This is not about asking for special treatment. It is about basic customer service, communication and accountability when dealing with a customer's money.
I hope Webafrica management will review today's WhatsApp conversation and the way this matter was handled.
We understand your frustration, particularly after providing the required payment proof and having to repeatedly explain that you were following up on the R760 refund. We also acknowledge your concern about being told to contact us again rather than receiving clear communication on the progress of your refund.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

Thank you for your response, but I want to make it very clear that I am not satisfied with the outcome or with the process that has been followed.
My frustration is not simply about having to wait for a refund. The issue is that I had already made a payment of R1,250 on 15 August, yet the additional R760 was still deducted from my account.
That R760 should not have been deducted in the first place because my account had already been paid. Now, because of Webafrica's payment allocation and refund process, I am being forced to wait for my own money to be returned while your internal processes are being completed.
I don't believe it is fair for the customer to carry the inconvenience and financial impact of an error or payment-processing issue on Webafrica's side.
What is particularly frustrating is that I am now being told that the payment allocation and refund process must be completed before my money can be released. That is your internal process — but the R760 is my money, and I should not have to wait because of a process that was not caused by me.
I also remain extremely unhappy with the communication I received from the agent. When I asked whether I would be kept informed about my refund, I was effectively told that I would not be kept in the loop and that I should contact Webafrica again after two days. That is not the level of customer service I expect.
So, while I acknowledge your response and appreciate that you have confirmed that the proof of payment has been attached to my account, this does not resolve my complaint or make me satisfied with the service I received.
I expect Webafrica to take responsibility for the situation, investigate why the R760 was deducted when I had already made the R1,250 payment on 15 August, and provide me with a clear explanation and a definite timeframe for when my R760 will be returned.
At this point, I am still extremely angry and dissatisfied with the process. I should not have to finance Webafrica's internal payment-allocation process with my own money.

We understand why you remain unhappy. Your concern is not simply the refund waiting period, but that the R760 was deducted despite your R1,250 payment having already been made on 15 August, leaving you waiting for funds you believe should not have been taken.
Warm regards,
