Useless

I logged a fault on my fibre line with Webafrica on Wednesday. They tried to fix the problem, but said that Telkom would have to fix it and they would contact me within 48 hours. I received a call from Telkom within an hour from fist talking to Webafrica. I was told that the problem could not be fixed remotely and that a technician would contact me within the next 48 hours to arange a time to come to the premises. I was further assured that fibre faults like these have priority.

48-hours later, I still hadn't been contacted by a technician. I phone Webafrica and was told that Telkom did try to reach me, however, I had no missed calls. Nonetheless, they said that they escalated the issue with Telkom and that I would be contacted soonest. Hours later, I followed up again, only to be told that I will only be contacted within seven working days.

I would blame Telkom for all this, except that I chose to have my line managed by Webafrica in order to avoid having to deal with Telkom, which now seems like it may have been a mistake. In the mean while, I'm being told that I will have to keep paying for the fibre service until after the fault is fixed, at which point (who knows when) I assume I will have another fight to get my account credited for the period that the service was down.

Thankfully these packages are month-2-month agreements. I'll be looking out for a different ISP.
