Unresponsive Support Service from WebAfrica
Hello Peter. I am resorting to using your channel to air my frustration after having been continuously ignored by WebAfrica. Ever since I signed up for their uncapped WiFi connection about 2 years ago, I have been logging a call about some SA numbers I am unable to call as I get the message that the call is “forbidden”. Every time I log the ticket, I do not receive any feedback, none at all, zero, and I only see via the customer portal that the call was “resolved”. Yet when I check, I find in fact there are now more numbers that are “forbidden”. What irritates the most is that nobody from WebAfrica bothers to provide me with any feedback on what is happening next, in spite of me raising yet another ticket that cross-references the first one to make it easy for WebAfrica to locate the call history. This has been going on for a very long time and it frustrates me that I continue to pay R838 per month for a service that partially works. The most recent call I logged for “Forbidden Numbers” has been promptly marked “resolved” and closed! NO! It’s not resolved. I still sit with the issue I have been reporting over and over again. And no one talks to me! They just close the call and move on with billing me for the month! It frustrates me that I now have to consider changing service providers, which of itself is an irritating task. It frustrates me that I still have to invest in the purchase of airtime from alternative providers so that I can be able to make calls. As if this is not enough, the network speed has deteriorated significantly during the lockdown. I logged a separate call for this and I was given instructions to perform speed tests over a 3-hour period. I did this promptly and submitted a detailed spreadsheet with the 94 tests I had performed. After not hearing from WebAfrica for over a week, I wrote to their support to enquire and, guess what, they responded with the same e-mail asking me to perform speed tests again!!! Another 3 hours!!! R838 per month…In the meantime, I am having to subsidise with pre-paid data from other service providers so I can at least get by while WebAfrica ignores me.
