********* Business Practices

If you are looking for a fibre service provider, avoid WebAfrica completely. They do not state in any of their terms and conditions that they start billing from date of infrastructure installation. They then attempt to bill you for the entire month at full charge even though the installation is completed weeks into the month.

This is all well and good if one could use the service, but one cannot as they do not provide you with the pre-configured router the same day. No, they only supply this 3 to 4 days later. Once router is delivered, the service does not work either. So in effect you are forced to pay for an entire months "service" that you cannot use.

In many cases a client has cancelled with an existing service provider and are working through the required notice period. Given the fact that installation can take anywhere from a week to 4 weeks, one would order the new service at the beginning of the month so that by the time the notice period is completed, the new service can begin. Not with WebAfrica. They do not give you the option of deciding when you want the service activated so as to prevent unnecessary overlap of paying for two services simultaneously. And none of this is mentioned in their terms and conditions or in any correspondence by support/sales staff. Very convenient for them.

So right now I am sitting with a fibre service from WebAfrica that does not work but payment is expected nonetheless. If one dares ask that the entire process is cancelled they invoke their cancellation notice period (which is only instated from the first of the next month). So in effect one is paying for two months worth of service that one has not even been able to use in ADDITION to them invoking what they term clawback fees (one would assume these are installation charges). All this for a service that never worked to begin with. I have dealt with many companies in my time, but the arrogance and ********* business practices that they employ are shocking.
