Tying in unwitting consumers *********ly
Beware! This R399 pm offer is a "trap" to tie you in where there is no fibre connectivity available. We app**** for the R399 deal where Openserve provide the fibre. The deal is promoted to be discounted till Nov'20 after which it increases to R599pm. The catch is that upfront when you provide your location, Web Africa agents are aware that there is no Openserve fibre available but don't mention the waiting period - having been told this by Openserve in Dec'20 I mentioned it to the agent, but he merely responded by "no problem, they have a" work around by merely issuing a manual order". They insist on you providing your ID & bank details so that they can create an acc for you. You then get a prompt response advising of your acc details with a new surprise! Welcome on board, due to unavailability of fibre in your location, there is a waiting period 1-3 months!!! This was not disclosed up front in the attempt to get your ID & bank details to "tie you in". I have senior contacts in Openserve networks who advises that fibre roll out in my area could take at least 6 - 9 months. This they do to *******ly do a credit check on you and your bank acc which no doubt negates your credit record! How *********. In the meantime the agent "goes underground" and do not respond to your mails. You now fear deductions from your bank acc whilst being on the "waiting list". I have seen reports on HelloPeter of such cases. Are there any ISP's with integrity out there? Beware!
