Trying to cancel my package and getting no resolution

Firstly let me say I am happy the quality of my fibre line I have with WebAfrica for the past few years, but am highly dissatisfied with their current service and product offering at present.

Since October 2022 I have been slapped with 3 price increase. And most recently I price increase in March and then another price increase in April.

I had 50mbps speed line with Octotel. I was happy the line speed. And WebAfrica tells me that they are going to increase my monthly amount to R909, but will upgrade my line speed to 100mbps.

Thank you but I would rather opt to go to another ISP. RSAWEB is offering 50mbps line at R725 per month. I am been be forced to pay for 100mbps that I did not ask for and which is more expensive.

On my WebAfrica customer zone now does not offer the 50mbps and only offers a downgrade to 35mbps line at R649.

Octotel is the ONLY provider that is active in our area and as a consumer I cannot switch to other like Vumatel who offer much more attractive packages.

So Octotel is running a nice monopoly in our area as well. So at least afford me the opportunity to switch to another ISP.

This has been my experience so far when I tried to give notice (1 month notice) to cancel my package with WebAfrica.

On 2 March a day after my debit order went off on my bank account, I went onto the Webafrica website and selected the cancel option I was referred to the live chat. I stated what I want and for next week I had chatted to different agents that all they did was to keep me waiting, ending the chat, telling me someone will call me. I have copied every single chat I had with an agent, I then email my frustration to complaints@webafrica and support@webafrica and have not response or confirmation that they received your email. I request a response now 3 times You have no way contacting a customer service agent or someone at Webafrica in person and can only use the chat. The chat is the most unproductive means of dealing with your customers.

SO Webafrica please let me know how I can request that my package be cancelled (with 30 days notice) and get confirmation thereof so that I can sign up with a better ISP at a better price.

I definitely do not want to be a Webafrica customer any longer.

I hope some person from Webafrica will have the decency to respond in person and not via an email or chat that would be such a refreshing experiencing compared to what I have been through the past 2 weeks. And have to resort to Hello Peter in the hope that WebAfrica will contact me…

Pathetic service Webafrica and really need to review Live chat as your only means of communicating with your customers.
